My husband had seen Dr. Ilic for upper dentures a couple of years ago when he was associated with Monarch Dentistry, and he was extremely pleased with his results.  Now it is time for my husband to acquire lower dentures, and he has located Dr. Ilic, who has now branched out on his own at US Dental.  My husband is an arthritic patient who takes the injectable drug Humira for his disease.  When my husband made his first consultation with Dr. Ilic for the lower dentures, Dr. Ilic requested a list of my husband's current medications.  Upon reviewing the list, Dr. Ilic recommended that my husband see his primary care physician first and get a letter releasing Dr. Ilic to do the dental procedures necessary.  It seems that Dr. Ilic was very knowledgable about the dangers involved with patients on Humira ( a fact that both my husband and I had forgotten).  Humira weakens the patient's resistance to infection and diminishes the healing process.  After consulting with his primary care doctor, my husband was instructed to immediately cease taking his Humira shots as well as his Methotrexate and Mobicin, until such time as the dental procedures had been totally completed. 

We feel that the astuteness of Dr. Ilic saved my husband from what might have been some very  serious complications.  Many dentists would not have taken the time or the initiative to investigate the patient's medical history, and that could make all the difference in the world whether the patient has a good experience or a nightmare.  We feel that Dr. Ilic should be commended for his diligence as well as his abilities in the field of dentistry.  We were very impressed and filled with confidence after the consultation, and my husband is looking forward to getting his dental work completed.
