They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

i have serious reservations against this doctor. i saw him two times in the office and he ended up delivering my baby because he happened to be on call that night. another reviewer mentioned his problem with lateness. i can verify that and say it's completely true. he's an hour late to the doctor's appointments and he was late to deliver my baby. i was fully dilated (and had been for a while) but the nurses told me i had to wait to push since dr. mccullough wasn't there yet. it was the worst. and the nurses knew how ridiculous this situation was, that i was ready to deliver and they could see the head of my baby but they had to tell me to hold on because my doctor was late. they had been calling him since i was 4 cm dilated so he had plenty of warning. they called him at least two more times after i was 10 cm but he still strolled in late. no apologies. i delivered my baby safely after only 10-15 min of pushing but he still used forceps (a method which i understand to not be recommended unless the pushing goes on too long) and gave me an episitomy. i still disagree with this decision. why use forceps or perform an episitomy on a woman after only 5 mins of pushing? you can wait and see if more pushing allows for more natural delivery. but my guess is that he wanted to leave asap. when i raised a question about why an episitomy was necessary, he was dismissive and overrode any objections i could make by saying a doctor has to make his decisions for the interests of the baby, not the mother and don't i want my baby to be first? ... um, yes i want my baby's well-being to be considered first but if an answer is phrased that way, what can any mother say, really? plus, what's done was done. but i would not recommend this doctor at all. |
