I went to Dr. Boothe after becoming recluse due to a never ending unsightly and very uncomfortable pink-eye-like swollen eye caused by seasonal allergies.  Of course, back then I didn’t know this was the cause.  I visited Boothe to see if he could find the cause and help me manage the issue so I could have a life again.  He unsuccessfully tried a few eye drops then recommended he put a stint in my tear duct to prevent tears from draining.  I was 22 and the thought of eye surgery scared me and my mom horribly.  Mom was *really* against it, but he was relentless.  He’s very matter-of-factly condescending, and is quite capable of making you feel quite stupid in the event you have the audacity to disagree. So, he attempted to do the surgery and it hurt a lot. I’m not sure if he didn’t use enough anesthetic, didn’t wait long enough, or what, but it was terrible. My mother and I protested mid-surgery and left right away never to return again. Later I found a new family doctor in the area and decided to ask her what the eye issue could be. She said it wasn’t an eye issue at all, it was an issue related to allergies. She said Boothe should have known this and redirected me to an allergist and should never have attempted surgery. She suspected he was interested in retaining business as long as possible, especially since I had excellent insurance.

I met a lady about 5 years later who had a patch on her eye. She discussed a doctor that had done something wrong to her and now she was blind in that eye. She described all sorts of other unsavory symptoms and mentioned she was going to sue him for what he’d done. I asked her which doctor so I could stay away, and she told me it was Dr. Boothe.

One less important aspect of visiting his office was that his staff double booked all appointment time slots so people would be in his waiting room for hours and hours on end. I went to him many many times to treat the above issue, and every single time included a horrendous wait.

Doctor Boothe did a fantastic job on my eyes. I wanted to get LASIK  surgery performed because contacts irritated both my eyes and I didn't like wearing glasses while playing sports or going out. Now that I have had the LASIK procedure, I can see the football clearly, and I don't have to worry about breaking glasses. When I go out at night, I can look my absolute best without having to squint to see things. I also like being able to wear regular sunglasses again when it's nice out, instead of paying a lot of money to get special prescription ones made.

Thanks Dr. Boothe. you gave me my sight back.

Someone got lucky with him - he's still dishonest.  To try and perform an operation on someone who clearly didn't need it is disgusting and crooked.  Of course he'll do some procedures on the level and make the patient satisfied.  But, that doesn't make him honest - as he's also performing unnecessary procedures on other patients.  Some leave and find out from other doctors they never needed it! He needs to be taken to court for dishonest practices and running his practice like a cattle ranch.  Don't condone him just because you were satisfied - if you knew for a fact he performed needless procedures on trusting patients would you still think he's so great?  I would hope not!!  Or, that will encourage that type of behavior.  Hope it doesn't happen to you one day!  Don't be so gullable!

Don, you even have the slogan for his commercial in your post.  How much did he pay you to write that?  Are you a part of his reputation management team?  Its funny how obvious the ones here are who are part of that.  Everyone else gives him a 1 or 2, and tells tons of horrible stories.  Then suddenly you see a a few 10's across the board that describe a compeltely different office/doctor.  So either you are part of a paid team, or you should get out of the twilight zone.
