ok so i went today for my consult with dr boothe. it seemed fine at first, but exactly what the guy above said is true. the had me signed up for the surgery before i even realized it! im a regestered nurse and know plenty about the medical field, and i know thats not the place i want to be. i went in at 10am and they had me scheduled the next day at 5am. not near enough time for the antibotic eye drops to do any good. go elsewhere.

I appreciate the information about eye doctor Dr. William Booth in Plano Texas, at the Boothe Eye Care Center.  I believe every word.  It's so obvious when a doctor only cares about the amount of money he is making off patients.  If a doctor is over-booking on a pretty consistent basis and for eye surgery...his interest is only money.  This guy is an ego-maniac and has no sincere interest in the patient!  People should NOT go to him.  Also, when a doctor is so greedy that they crowd patient after patient with the get them to sign and booked as quickly as possible routine -  it should be a very obvious warning you should 'stay away'.  These types have lost their medical ethics , if they ever had them and all they have become is 'great liers'  and most importantly, 'risk takers' at the patients expense.  They get tired, like this Boothe dude and probably need to take caffeine or 'whatever' to keep awake.  I'm sure if you could intereview all his ex-patients you'd hear horror stories about all his mistakes.  Watch out for this phony, ego-maniac.  Not to be trusted!  Any more comments about this guy - let people know!  Someone needs  to get the government to oversee these doctors to keep them on the straight and narrow - getting a bit crooked and sleazy - this guy is.   

Oh geez. I wish I saw these comments before. I experienced the same stuff mentioned in these comments. I had the procedure in 1/09' and now i need another correction since I'm seeing triple on one eye. I am going to see another eye doctor to see what' going on. I think i talked to Dr. boothe no more than 5 mins combined with all my visits.

EVERYONE WATCH OUT FOR DR. WILLIAM BOOTHE, EYE SURGEON OF PLANO TEXAS.....HE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CARELESS.  DON'T LET YOURSELF BE TALKED INTO HAVING RISKY SURGERY FROM THIS GREEDY, CRAZY DOCTOR!  PAY ATTENTION TO THESE COMMENTS.  ANY ONE WHO ADVERTISES AS MUCH AS THIS GUY DOES IS NUTS.  HE WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET YOU TO LET HIM OPERATE ON YOU - AT YOUR EXPENSE -  REALLY! 

I went for the exam...dingy, dim, 'herded' feeling, 'sign here now' techniques - all as described above....woe to me - I signed!!...when he entered the room (at the end of the screening), he did not introduce himself, ask my name (called me madam), did not speak to my husband, and spoke with a drone and rote, unconcerned tone that will amaze you!...I happened to ask for clarification regarding how much my vision would be improved over wearing my current contacts and he said, 'none' (all about convenience and less risk, he said)....when I asked for clarification regarding the 'discounted' price, he immediately became defensive, rose to exit and said, 'he did not think he could make me happy' - THAT is the one part he got right!! (did refund the 150 as promised)....my logic = to pay 3500 dollars to avoid 'the inconvenience' of contacts that do not bother me in any manner is absurd....I was going for improved vision - he cannot manage that!! - go figure!!  what a surprise that would have been 'after the $3500 fact' had i not asked the 'right' question! I feel fortunate to have avoided this experience!

I would have to agree with the posters above that  Dr. Boothe's office is run like a mill. Stupidly, I went there several years ago for LASIK, and while things went ok, I spent several hours there for a routine appt. and also got the hard sell with the discount offered for booking surgery that week.

Doctor Boothe did warn me that I would need reading glasses in my mid-40s. I am at that point now, as my eyes has shifted from 20-20 to about 20-40 or 20-50. I called this week to set an appt. for a consult and was immediately reminded of what I didn't like about the office. The appt. setter was pushy, telling me that they could get me in Monday and I would get a discount if I booked surgery that week.  I told them there was no way I could do surgery next week and that I was calling trying to set things up for surgery around Christmas. Even though I had been a patient there before, they couldn't find a record of me, and acted like it was my fault like I must be spelling my own name wrong.

Today I called to cancel the appt., having thought about it and realizing I really didn't like this office or the way it is run and didn't feel like spending four or five hours there on my day off just to get an estimate and then be pressured into surgery. The salesman could not even find a record of my appt. that I booked last week! My advice is to stay away and look for someone who actually cares about their patients.

I had the worst experience in my life from Dr Boothe.  I first went in to see if I was a good candidate, and of course he said yes for Monovision.  They scheduled the sergury a couple days later on a Frida night.  We left their office about 1:30 am.  When I woke up the next morning I could not even open my eyes.  They were so dry and stuck closed.  I was scared and crying.  My daughter spent about an hour constantly putting in wetting Drops so I could open my eyes.  We called the office as soon as they opened.   When we arrived we had to wait.  I could not see anything.  When I finally was seen 'not by doctor boothe' they asked me to read the eye chart.  The eye chart was totally black.  I could not read anything.  They took me back finally to see dr boothe and he took out the dry contacts they had put into my eyes after the surgery. 

I could see some, but he also schedules another surgery a week later to correct my eyes.  During the first surgery you could hear him yelling at his employees.  My daughter was sitting with me the whole time.  This is really scarry since you are under a lasik machine, your vision goes balck and you hear all this yelling.  He apparently had the wrong file, and he fired the employee right their on the spot.

After my next lasik I still could not see correctly.  I work with numbers all day so this was effecting my work as well.  He told me this was because I had dry eyes.  I needed plugs in my tear ducts.  I was going to his office almost everyday to have these put back in.  I was driving to his office every day..  The office employees even had me come in the back door si I did not have to wait in the waiting room like everyone else that was usually there it least 2 hours.  I was always seen by dr boothe.  He kept saying I had 20/20. 
 They have you read these charts that you actually memorize the words because you see them so much. 

Then I receive a phone call on my voice mail from an ex-employee that was there and knew that they had messed up my eyes, and they were just tryng to cover it up.  I believe this was true.  I confronted Dr Boothe about this and he said not to believe the employee.  He was just a mad employee.  I do believe the employee because I was actually going to dr boothe's office everyday for it least 4 months.  I got so tired of everything and the plugs coming out all the time, but when the plugs were in my eyes flooded with tears, making it even hard to see or read anything.  I told Dr Boothe about my night vision and the large hallo's  I see, The sensitivity to light I have.  He just kept sayingthis is because I have dry eyes.  None of this was explained to me at all.  I finally had asked for my money back.  I was told NO I have 20/20.  I still to this day cannot see correctly.
 
I cannot read at distant, or close up.  I cannot read a prescription bottle.  When I look at the moon I see 2 moons at night.  I have a hard time seeing my 65' TV in the living room, I cannot read the schedule on the Dish on wat is playing.   Dr Booth wrote me a prescription for glasses for when I was driving.  This was just as bad.  The glasses made my distance weird, but then I could not even ready the dash on my car.  The only thing this helped with was the hallo's not being as big. 

If there was a way for this to be reversed I am not sure I would trust anyone to do this.  My eyes are so dry all the time as it is.  This is the worst experience that I have ever done.  My price I had paid for this was 3600.00.  I feel my eyes have been messed up by Dr Boothe.  There is nothing you can do either.  When they say they will refund your money if you are not 20/20, well according to their office you will always be 20/20 or close.

I have recently seen a doctor becasue of my vision.  He cauld not understand what Dr Boothe had done to my eyes.  My distant eyseshould have been my closup, and the following on my other eye.  He mentioned that he has had alot of people come in with the same problems that I have.  The galsses that I would have to be wearing now would be Trifocals.  They cost is almost 400.00 plus the office visit.  This is the main reason I wanted Lasik was to not have to wear glasses.  I cannot wear contact beacuse they irritate my eyes so bad. 
I would  not recomend this to anyone especially Dr Boothe.  The thing is there really is not turning back or having this reversed.  You will have more dry eye again for the lasik, and who knows if you would see worse or not.
This is my experience and I want everyone to know about this before this can happen to them.
