My brother had his surgery there. A co-worker had his done there too. They are both happy with the results, but did warn me about the non-personal and assembly-line-atmostphere of Dr. Boothe. But, I planned on visiting a few different doctors and I wanted Dr. Boothe to be one of the doctors I considered.
First of all, this guy has got to be ridiculously wealthy, he advertises on the radio constantly, but his offices were old, dirty, and reminded me of a school cafeteria. They had about 20 people scheduled for the same appointment time as mine. I waited about 30 minutes to be called in (the first time). And all they did was a couple eye measurement tests then sent me back out to the waiting room. And they didn't even take me to an exam room for the tests - they actually had the machine out in the hallway and that's where they did the tests, as other people were being ushered back and forth, up and down the hallway next to me! And the whole time the technician was administering my exam, he was talking to another employee about why someone had not paid the $150 deposit (more concerned with $$ than with giving me and my eyes a proper exam). They finally called me in again and I met with a consultant who was really just a pushy salesman trying to get me to sign the papers & schedule the surgery as quickly as possible, offering all kinds of financing and discounts if I scheduled immediately. He said the pricing was standard, but it was not the same price as my friend paid (only 3 weeks ago), so I asked him about the difference. He said my friend must not be remembering correctly, or forgot about the deposit amount. His answers about pricing just felt evasive and dishonest. He did answer some of my questions about the surgery itself rather intelligently, but he said some of my questions (I had a list) would need to be discussed with Dr. Boothe to determine the right procedure for me. But I soon found out I would not get to meet with Dr. Boothe unless I paid a $150 deposit toward the surgery! So, that was it...I was out of there!! They were herding people around like cattle and I couldn't wait to escape. He may be a good surgeon with lots of experience, but his practice is operated badly and I'm not giving my $$ to someone like that. My advice is this - go ahead and have your consultation at Boothe, then go with your gut feeling. Now, I'm even happier with my decision after doing more research and finding so many mixed reviews on him, and I'm glad I never met him in person considering all the negative things I've read about him personally and about how he treats his patients and employees. By the way, I decided to have my surgery done elsewhere. My experience there was the total opposite of my experience at Boothe. I won't list the name here because I wouldn't want it to be associated with a bad review or misinterpreted as negative in any way. So I will be posting a separate (good) review for the doctor I chose. Please...go with your gut!

Oh geez. I wish I saw these comments before. I experienced the same stuff mentioned in these comments. I had the procedure in 1/09' and now i need another correction since I'm seeing triple on one eye. I am going to see another eye doctor to see what' going on. I think i talked to Dr. boothe no more than 5 mins combined with all my visits.
