2008-2009

Pavilion for Women's Care is by FAR the worse Medical Practice I've ever been to. I started seeing Dr. Susan Fox in 2008, and agree with ALL the comments that state she is cold, incompetent and just rude. After you wait on hold forever to get an appointment, you wait over 2 hours to actually see the doctor, except you end up seeing a nurse b/c Dr. Fox is never there!  I always specified to the staff I ONLY want to be seen by a lady doctor and even thought they confirmed that Dr. Susan would see me, on the day of the appt. she was not there! This happened almost EVERY time I went there.

I had a horrible and traumatic experience at this practice. It all started one of the few times I actually saw Dr. Fox. I informed her that I was having really bad cramps and a sharp and accute abdominal pain. She said it was just normal, probably just menstrual cramps. I told her the pain was constant and maybe I should get an ultrasound, but she ignored my comments and saw me in less than 3 mins., without even giving me a breast exam or asking anything about my health. She just rushed in, without even saying hello, and rushed out the same way. Less than 2 wks later, I was rushed to the emergency room with the worse pain I've ever had to endure. I had an ovarian cyst that ruptured causing an internal bleeding. They had to remove my whole ovary which was torn and completely ruptured by the cyst that had exploded. The internal bleeding was so bad, they had to operate me immediately. I spent almost 2 wks in a hospital bed, and lost a month and a half of work while I was recovering from the surgery. I couldn't walk, couldn't move much for the first few weeks since the cut was across my abdomen, just like a C-section, just without the baby. I'm only 25 yrs old, and had already lost an ovary and would be scarred for life, I was devastated! Just to think that I had just seen Dr. Fox and complained about the pain, but she just ignored me. I will always wonder if, instead of rushing to see me, she would have taken the time and ordered ultrasounds, perhaps I would still have my ovary. Every one I've told this story to, tells me it was complete negligence on part of Dr. Fox. She was incompetent and careless. A malpractice overall and that I should have sued them.

After my surgery, I had to go for a follow up appointment. The girl in the front desk, Juanita, told me Dr. Fox would see me. After 2 hours of waiting in the lobby, I got up to ask her if the Dr. was going to see me anytime soon. She replied 'Oh, no. Dr. Fox left about 45 mins ago.' I was in shock! This girl had left me sitting there for over 2 hours and the Dr. had already left and she never called me in??? This was a follow up appt. after having emergency surgery, after spending 2 wks in the hospital!!! I couldn't believe it. They have no regards for patient's time, or for their health. I decided to switch doctors, because I was tired and frustrated at the incompetence and just the lack of commitment these people have for their patients. It should be illegal to treat people so poorly!!!

As if that wasn't enough, all my regular pap smears since I was at Dr. Fox came back with HPV when I had NEVER had that problem. They kept telling me I had to come back every 6 months to repeat the Pap Test just as precaution. I always did, but I was so surprised since I had never had positive results for HPV. After finally changing doctors, I had another Pap Smear (Less than a month after my last one at Dr. Fox's office). It came back perfect! No HPV, no abnormal cells, nothing! Call it luck, but I really think that Dr. Fox's practice is just doing that to get more money. I told this story to the girl that had initially recommended Dr. Fox to me, and she told me the exact same thing! Her paps had never come back positive with HPV until she went to Dr. Fox. Soon after she realized how incompetent the staff and the doctor was, she also switched doctors. Guess what? Her next pap did NOT show she had HPV! Coincidence?...Maybe. I was telling the horrible stories from being a patient of Dr. Fox to my new doctor and she told me that it wasn't the first time she had heard similar stories...all from former patients of DR. Susan Fox! What a nightmare!!! How can this doctor still be in practice???!!!

PLEASE, if you have any regards for your health, DO NOT go to this doctor. It is such an unprofessional practice. Not only from the fact that you will always wait over 2 hours to be seen, or that all the girls in the staff are incompetent and rude, but from a moral point: Doctors are supposed to serve, help and be concerned about their patient's health, NOT their money. This practice sees over 100 patients a day, they only care about the money their patients bring in but NOT about the quality of medical services they should provide.

PLEASE DO NOT make the same mistake I did, there are tons of other doctors, ANYONE would be better than DR. SUSAN FOX and her practice.

OMG! That's horrible!!! I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I was looking for a new OBGYN, but after reading some of Dr. Susan's comments, there's no way I'll be going to see her.

It must have been very difficult for you to go through all that, but thank you for warning other women. It's always good to find out that a doctor is bad, before going to see them. I'm just sorry you didn't have the same luck.
