I went there for a 2nd opinion on my dog's knee. Before even examing my dog or even watching him walk, Dr. H started to ell me what was wrong and surgery was needed and the $. He then went on to say he was the best in Michigan at this surgery and how Mi State board certified vet surgeons stole the procedure from him. I was a bit turned off by this. When I asked about pain management, he said dogs don't feel pain like we do so they don't need it! I asked to see the surgical facility and he said no, that was off limits. I asked if he knew my vet and he only had negative comments about her.(also other local vets too!) I felt that was entirely unprofessional. I ended up having surgery done at MI State - very professional, kind people, and they believe in pain management!!! I recommend that all should avoid Dr. Hadaway. When he told me some vets in the area should retire and get out of the field, I thought 'maybe you should look in the mirror!'

Should have left as soon as I walked in. The place smelled horrible. Stale feces and urine smell. And it was filthy. Should have been a clue. Dr. Hadaway did minimal care - laceration on my dog's neck. Didn't clean it out, said there was too much hair to clean it out! Acted as if he was in a hurry! Gave 2 injections, an antibiotic and that was it! For $298!! Our regular vet was out of town so we went to Dr. hadaway. She came back 2 days later, and we went to her for follow up, the wound was infected because of all the hair and dirt left in it. She sedated our dog, cleaned out all the debris, clipped all the hair surrounding the wound. She gave us pain medication also, which Dr. Hadaway did not do. I'll spend whatever it takes on my dog, but I also want good quality care! This not available with Dr. Hadaway at Animal Care Center in Benton Harbor!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
