I don’t usually take the time to write reviews. In this case I felt compelled to do both. Dr. Rajiv Kumar has made such a positive difference for two of my three grandsons and in our family’s lives that I just had to let other people know. I also need to find someone like Dr. Kumar for my 3rd grandson so I am hoping for a good referral for him. Let me explain. I raised two boys. One of them really struggled in school. We were told he wasn’t trying or he was lazy. Those comments caused all kinds of dissention in the family and probably left him with miserable childhood memories. It was not until college that we found out he had learning disabilities. I’m not sure I would have put him on medication even if I had known he needed it. I was ignorant and thought parents who put their son’s on medication were just too lazy to parent them properly. Boy, was I wrong! Now I have a 10-year-old grandson that I have been raising since birth. He has ADD and Bipolar disorder. Dr. Kumar has been treating him for several years. He is doing so much better. His oldest brother was in Jr. High. Failing classes, anger issues, not getting along well in school and even worse at home. Dr. Kumar agreed to see him too. By the time he was in 8th grade he was getting math awards and the situation at home was unbelievably better. The middle brother is in Jr. High now. He is failing his classes and is impossible at home. Nothing his parents do makes a difference. They have Blue Cross Healthy Families insurance. A state sponsored insurance that is not much better then Medi-cal. Because it pays so poorly most doctors don’t take it at all. The few doctors who do take it have to limit the number of patients they accept because it pays so poorly. They couldn’t pay the office over-head if they accept too many patients with Blue Cross Healthy Families insurance. I hope I can find a Doctor for my middle grandson that does take it (that is half as good as Dr. Kumar). PS The secretary (Peggy) in Dr. Kumar's office is the sweetest, kindest person you will ever meet. |
