When I finally decided to see a doctor about my 'displaced big toe' I went about the selection process by researching local doctors. I chose Dr. Philip Basile for the following reasons: 1. Knowing I would need surgery I wanted a podiatric surgeon who could see the process through from beginning to end. 2. He's Chief of Division of Podiatry at the Mount Auburn Hospital. 3. Most importantly, Dr. Basile is Board Certified. 4. He's an instructor at Harvard Medical School. All the credentials I was looking for and then some. Well, I'm happy to say that I made a great choice in Dr. Basile. He recently performed surgery on my left foot to correct the dislocated first metatarsal bone caused by a bunion on my big toe. After 3 weeks I was already out of the boot and into a post-op sandal. Even the incision is almost completely healed. He's down to earth and very pleasant to talk with. Most of all, he did a fantastic job on my foot! I highly recommend Dr. Philip Basile. And Dr. Basile, if you have an opportunity to read this, I want to thank you for everything and you can be sure I'll come to you with any future foot ailments. |
