I had a breast augmetation, in March of this year. Thought I had done my homework, checked qualifications etc. After just having a revision done elsewhere in the last week I can now compare the two experiences. I am a super fit person in my 50's and so wanted to put some natural looking boobs back on a very low fat body. I ended up with higfh profile 350cc. looked rediculous, as I have very defined pecs and the boobs looked very fake and far too full upper pole. I endured the most prolonged and painful recovery period, I was worried about the positioning of the implants. I didn't feel the concerns that I voiced at the follow up appointments were taken seriously. hardly had any time with the Dr. mostly the nurses or office manager. 6 months down the line and after a revison, it was plain to see that I had mal positioned implants from the get go, one was further out to the side, and one far too high. Both pockets too small, which made the implants wrinkle and hard. the implants never dropped down, because the muscle wasn't cut properly on the cleavage. I had a massive amount of scar tissue removed, that was probably caused by an un-noticed heamatoma after surgery, which caused capsular contracture.and was probably made worse by being told to use a band for 3 months...you can't push implants into a space that was never created in the first place. Comparing the 2 surgeries, I now feel that Dr Hardaways office is like a car sales showroom, I was left in a room awaiting the quote for my surgery for probably 30 minutes, like it was some secret formular. I never really had enough information about possible complications, actually none Just interested in getting my money, always kept waiting after I had paid up. I never feel I had any real meaningful follow up care, and as soon as the Dr decided I did actually need a revision, to get rid of the capsular contracture, I really had to push to get her to even acknowledge the mal positioning of the implants, and it would be too hard to correct and wasn't her fault! Thats what made me start shopping again, back out into the lottery! If I went out for a meal and didn't like the food, didn't like the service, would i go back for more even if they offered me a discount card? NO! I had the revision done by Dr M Gowder of Novi. Totally different experience, he spent plenty of time figuring out what had gone wrong and what needed to be done to get a better outcome, recovery was amazing, after care is great, office staff great. I know that Dr Gowder went above and beyond, (4 hour surgery) to get me where i needed to be. So far really happy with the results |
