2009  I was referred to Jeansonne by my regular dentist (Marroquin) because I needed a root canal.  They said he was the best in town.  Prior to making an appt, I googled Jeansonne and discovered this website as well as others in which he had horrible scores... not to mention the lawsuits/cocaine charges of which I was previously unaware.  I confirmed the rumors about him by discussing them with another doctor (non-Dentist). I called Marroquin's office immediately and asked if there was anyone else that they recommended because of what I had read about him.  They assured me that they would refer me to another office because they wanted me to feel comfortable with the endodontist.  I asked about the drug charges and they told me that he was investigated for 6-9 months and cleared of those charges.  He obviously wouldn't have his license to practice if he had been charged.  I told them that I would trust their professional opinion and get a root canal consultation with Jeansonne.  If I felt uncomfortable or noticed anything weird about him, then I would request another referral.
I called on Wednesday of last week, Jeansonne's office worked me in for a consultation on Thursday because I was in pain, spent no time waiting after I arrived for my appt, and did not get creeped out by the doctor during the appt.  I scheduled my root canal for this last Monday morning.  It was speedy, professional, and painless (...until the analgesic wore off mid-Monday afternoon). He did not prescribe any pain meds other than 500mg Naproxen (prescription-strength aleve) and my only complaint as of today (Wednesday afternoon) is that my crown (the tooth I had my root canal) is sitting too high.  They have scheduled me in for an adjustment this afternoon.

Cost: Seemed a little high, but as I don't have dental insurance, I don't really know how to compare - $1005.  The staff also thought it was weird that I requested a bill so that my father could cut a check for them.  (My father is a physician in town.)  He thought it was odd that Jeansonne's office was calling Monday afternoon requesting the check immediately.  When I called and told them it was in the mail, it seemed alright.

I apologize for the lengthy description, but I felt that I needed to share since he was receiving tons of negative comments and my experience with him did not reflect those of the majority. His staff was professional and kind and their appearances were clean - contrary to other reviews.  I would have no problem going to him for another root canal (God forbid I need one).

Yes, he does have his license to  practice dentistry but he is still under investigation and has no DEA license to dispense narcotics.  He is on probabtion for the drug charges.
