2006 I have never had a downright bizarre and unprofessional medical experience until I went to the office of Dr. Anchors. I went for a standard yearly check-up (female). He was extremely unprofessional, asking me far too many unrelated personal questions, as well as telling me far too many personal things about himself (like detailed family information). I thought it was all very odd, but as he has an MD and a Ph.D., I figured I would just finish the exam and leave. As far as the exam itself, he came into the room with a really outdated and strange-looking little black doctor's bag, and began my examination. DURING my examination, he would not stop talking, and actually began a debate with the nurse present about how women don't need pap smears if they don't have HPV. He gave me detailed information on things I never wanted/needed to know, and went as far as to try to show me his office and photos of his family. This may sound like I'm an insensitive person, but honestly, I don't want/need to know where and how my physician met his wife nor what his children do and how one of them just found a great husband. It was all very odd.

I'm sure Dr. Anchors is a very nice man, but I found him to be very eccentric and extremely off-putting in his manner towards me. He went as far as to ask me if he could 'keep me on his file' because I work in an industry related to one of his hobbies. I found that a bit odd.

In in the end, it was one of those experiences where you get in your car after the visit and say, 'Did that REALLY just happen?' Needless to say, I never went back.
