I went to see this dentist initially because my teeth were in very bad shape. I told him I was considering dentures because I had a friend , as well as my parents and my mother-in-law also had dentures. My dentist insisted forcefully I would be better off having partials. At the time my wife was working for the B.C. provincial government and had a good dental plan. I still had to pay over $800.00 for the top and bottom partials. I since have had a facing on one partial replaced at no cost. However, since then I have had two other facings [teeth] on each partial fall off. My dentist was quite clear that I would have to pay for any other repairs to the partials. I don't have the money for that! Also, I have had to have 2 teeth extracted because the partials put pressure on my remaining teeth. This has cost me already another $260.00. My wife was downsized out of her job and I have no dental insurance or coverage. I am currently taking 2, 222's because my jaw is in agony and am forced now to go to an emergency street dental clinic to have another tooth removed. I am furious that my dentist did not follow my instructions and have all of my teeth removed so I could be fitted with a proper set of dentures when my wife was still covered under her dental plan at work. I allowed this dentist to influence my better judgement and I regret that decision bitterly. In addition to my issues my youngest daughter had a crown installed on her front tooth. My daughter told him it looked crooked. I agreed. He ssaid it looked fine. My daughter and I were both very angry when we left his office as we felt that he did not in any way take our opinions with any validity at all. I am so frustrated and fed up with my remaining teeth I am considering asking the dentist at the swift street dental clinic to take out my remaining teeth anyway, even if I can't afford dentures. I would rather gum my food that have to put up with the discomfort and expense any longer! Thank you for allowing me to express my feelings in this forum. |

I had a similar experience in that the bridge at the back of my mouth was put on crookedly, after nearly dropping it down my throat. I now have to have a new one put on, and the decay under it could be substantial at this point.
I also had a root canal at the front of my mouth which later had to be addressed by a specialist who commented under his breath about how he couldn't believe it!
