10/2000 to 8/2007 I have no idea why Dr. Kabakibou has chosen this profession, it is very obvious to me he has no compassion or concern for his patients. His main objective is seeing as many patients as possible on any given day. He is very unprofessional and down right rude with condescending attitude and this is on his better days. I have sat out in the waiting room for over 3 hours on occasion and have had conversations with other patients whom all seem to agree on this assessment which I am making. I can not remember one complimentary remark or anything positive being said about him. I have actually felt his patients feared him and his staff certainly lacks professionalism as well. Very seldom have I encountered same staff members for they come and go every month. I have seen his children allowed to run around in the patient examining area. He never returns phone calls. On many occasions when I enter the examining room he had already prepared my scripts and is ready to head out the door. In the seven years I have been his patient he has taken my blood pressure no more than 5 times and weighed me twice even though my weight had fluctuated over 60 pounds during this time period. He had given my former husband samples of Viagra, Cilias, and Ambian even though he was not a patient nor had he been examined by Dr. Kabakibou. He had held secret meetings requested by my former husband with my family members (mother, father, daughters present) and I did not become aware of these meetings until a year later. He has discussed my diagnosis with other doctors without my permission. In my opinion this doctor should not have a license to practice medicine and I really think he deserves a refund from the university from which he earned his degree. He should return to the country from which he came from and we should not tolerate this type of unethical, rude, treatment from him.

Most people who seek his services are people with health issues who experience severe and chronic pain on a daily basis as myself. It makes all the difference in the world to me personally to see a doctor who is at least courteous and caring. When I visit a doctors office I usually take a short notation of the questions I would like to ask (so that I would make the most of the time spent with the doctor), however rarely have I been given the opportunity to ask questions about my health issues nor does he ever ask if I have questions. He is in and out the door and best you'll get is a glimpse of him. I strongly advise anyone reading this to stay clear away from this doctor and as you notice he doesn't even deserve to have his title as a doctor capitalized in my opinion.

If there are more doctors like him out there then GOD HELP US ALL!!

Well said, GG!  I don't know how or why 'Mr.K.' ended up in his profession, but at least you see him for what he is!  I don't think he deserves a refund, though, on his so-called assumed education.  I say 'assumed education' because I am assuming he has been to med school since he is in the profession, but have no proof of that.  I saw a program on the other night with a story about a man that posed as a doctor and no one had actually checked his credentials - they were all made up.  Apparently this happens, who knows how often, but people should be aware that it could happen.  You are right, God help us all if this is what the world is coming to.  The healthcare system is broken from top to bottom, from the insurance companies to the doctors and other professionals.  There are some good caring doctors out there, so at least we have the freedom of speech in the U.S. to share our experiences in a forum such as this so we know who to stay away from.  Thank you for your detailed comments.  Sorry to hear that you had an awful experience with 'Mr. K.' as well, though.

Hey All!!

After a week and a half of trying to get a response form the 'prescription' dept and after actually giving my new Dr. info to 'someone' there which of course they had NO record of....I finally got them to write a script for a months worth of meds to get me thru till I could see my new doc.  I was livid after I missed the Sat appt due to illness and was told I couldn't bee seen for another 3 weeks, which I would certainly have been out of meds in only 1 week!  I actually gave the new doc info to someone there...unfortunately I did not get her name...but she assured me my records would be snail mailed out 2 days later...on Thursday...so during one of my 'daily' calls in to the office to check the status of what was happening with my records and my script...it came to light that there was NO RECORD of my new doc in my 'file' !!  I could not believe this!!  But...my call on the 8th day was answered by the only caring staff member there...and I again was on hold for nearly 30 mins but I did get to speak with the PA who could not believe my story....but she did write my script and I was transferred to the 'correct' person (Shawn) to get my records transferred.  I could not believe there wasn't anything in my file to indicate that I had given all of the new doc's info a week previously!!

I will NEVER EVER subject myself to this kind of humiliation by ANY doctor again!!  I don't know why I waited as long as I did to switch....I guess because it was easy to just go in and see MR. Kabakibou for 3 min and walk out with a script for another month of meds but when push came to shove (me missing my apt due to illness and then being treated as if I were lower than POND SCUM) with no contingency plan/appts from the office I was FORCED to seek medical attention elsewhere....I had hoped to see my new doc sooner than Jan 21 and I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE to do so if it were not for his 'vindictive' staff and uncaring/unfeeling nurse(s).

Of all the doctors I have seen in my lifetime (and as you all well know as CP'ers we see lots of docs)  Mr. K is by far the absolute WORST 'doctor' I have EVER had to deal with in my entire LIFE!!

Please, I urge you all to get out while you can!!  Just go to an appt, get your meds for the month and then tell them you want your file transferred to a new doc....and give them the new doc info but keep calling daily to check the status of your file being mailed....had I not called again I would never had known my file was never even sent to the new doc!!

What a HORRIBLE excuse for a human being Mr. K is, much less an 'MD'....get out while you still can is my best advice to you all!!

My records were never sent out that week. After my eighth day of calling I was finally able to speak to the PA (after my eighth time on hold for over 30 minutes). She actually sounded like she did not believe my story that I had already given my new doc name and address so my records would be sent snail mail the prev. Thursday but as I continued to describe their 'process' for sending records (which I learned from the person who 'said' she would make sure my recs were sent out 4 business days earlier) she began to believe my story. She did however tell me that I should not be out of meds yet .. I had prev. told her my last fill was on 12/14...she said I shouldn't be out until 1/14...I had to remind her that it was in fact 1/15 and that I was indeed OUT OF MEDS! Duh. After 8 business days, calling at least once a day I finally managed to get them to write a script and 'hopefully' send my records although I will not know for certain until tomorrow!!

What a nightmare this Mr. K has created and is responsible for in my life ... no one should ever be made to endure the torture I have had to deal with simply because I was too ill to make an appointment...the first time in a year of being his 'patient'...what a crock that word is as well....I was only a mechanism for him to take my $25 co pay, bill my ins. for an astronomical amount, and spend 3 minutes with .... long enough to write a script and ask me a few questions he had already asked time and again but just didn't 'remember asking'.... I also learned that three days a week they triple book appointments..which is why we have to wait so long in the stark, un-friendly waiting room for hours to be seen for our 3 min. appt and to get our scripts.

What a racket!! I'm so glad I was forced to find another doc!! This one has excellent reviews on every website I've found that has a rating for this doc...always very high ratings and very nice comments by patients!! I can't WAIT for my first appt!!

I'm sure any patient of any physicians have had some bad experiences. I have. But I vehemently disagree with the negative comments regarding Dr. Kabakibou. I am a patient of 2 years, not a friend. I have serious pain management issues due to a chronic illness I wish I didn't have.

I have had appointments with Dr. K and his physician's assistants quite a few times, many times accompanied by my husband. In Dr. K'sformer suite of offices which were too small for him and his staff we did encounter some issues regarding long waits. But Dr. Kabakibou and his staff were ALWAYS caring, sensitive to my needs and always took the time to listen to my experiences and respond to any questions or needs. Dr. K is highly observant, a sensitive human being and a good listener. If his patients weren't treated as  though we were important to him, Dr K would not have become the successful specialist he is, at the top of his field.

I wish other MDs I've known were as compassionate and skilled at caring for their patients as Dr. K. I've known a couple who sound like the descriptions given by SugarMagnolia and Glindawitch. If you had any serious issues with Dr. kabakibou I'm sure you could have requested an appointment to talk about your concerns and he would have tried to help. That's the kind of person my husband and myself have both seen in action. He's busy but he does care and pays attention to patients.

Be fair to your Doctors. Discuss issues with them when you are unhappy with your care. They can't help you if you don't. Even the most sensitive MD is not a mindreader.

Paula...Why do you think Mr. Kabakibou has an overal rating of only '5' when there are 9 reviews of him?

Do you think ALL OF US must be 'wrong' or as in my case you accused me of not even REVIEWING THE CORRECT PERSON...

As for requesting an appt to discuss my concerns...WHY on EARTH would I subject myself to MORE abuse by this arrogant ass?

Comments by ginagreene on 03/04/08, 12:56 am

Paula You are absolutely right about discussing your concerns with your doctor that is exactly what I tried to do. Kamal would not see me instead in sent in his nurse to do the talking for him. When I realized I was not going to be seen by him I decided to leave and on my way out I did run into him in the hallway. I naturally said hello first and asked him for 5 minutes of his time(I was discharged by this Dr. in a form of a letter because he thought I was getting meds from another doctor. I don't know where he received his information but it was incorrect information.) The five minutes I asked for was so I could explain to him and clarify the error. He smiled and said ' have a good day Gina'. I was so angry and shocked i stood there dumbfoundedly for a minute and asked one of the staff members what I should do about running out of my meds since he would not see me. She went and spoke with the doctor and when she returned she told me he said it 'sounds like she has a problem, tell her to get it from the other doctor'.  What the idiot did not understand there is no other doctor. When I finally managed to get another appt. with a Pain Management doctor he called Dr. K to verify information I had given him. Doctor K deliberately gave my new doctor wrong information. At first I thought it was an error but after examining the info given to the doctor it was very clear to me it was deliberate. For example Dr. K stated I had came by his office to receive refill for medtronic device. (I do not have medtronics device implanted in me) He also gave names of three other narcotics which I have never taken. He gave the new doctor private information about myself that should have never been given, yet my birthday and social where correct. (I think it is time for me to go see a lawyer). All in all he painted a picture of me to the new doctor as a drug seeking person and it humiliated and infuriated me to the point of combustion. Needless to say the new doctor wanted to  clarify the information he received before he would treat me and I knew that meant weeks of run around  by Dr. K's office. So I asked my new doctor why he could he not make his own evaluation since I did have my MRI's films with me and certainly he could have examined me and made his diagnosis to treat me.  But after speaking to Dr. K it is my personal opinion that this new doctor did not even want me as a new patient. So I just wasted 3 hours of my time not to mention a $40 co/pay but most importantly time since I was just 3 days away of being out of meds. (and as a chronic pain sufferer we all know what that means) I realize I tend to get a little winded on the subject of Dr. Kabakibou but I too can say that he was the worst doctor I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. Just so you know as Paula S stated (that he was caring, compassionate, and a good listener) Glindawitch commented that Paula S must be a knock out if Dr. Kabakibou was giving her all that attention, smart girl you are Glindawitch. When I first started seeing Dr. K seven years ago I offered him free limo services which my former husband and I owned, we had given him free comp dinner passes among other things at that point he was most accomodating of m
