1992 I'm glad to hear Dr. Fruiterman retired, and not surprised if he didn't notify his patients. I regret entrusting him with my prenatal care and the birth of my only child. The birth was complicated, and he was arrogant. But the experience taught me several things about doctors that I wish I'd known before I went to him: 1. Doctors who are detested by nurses at the hospitals where they practice are likely to be jerks. 2. If a doctor makes you feel uncomfortable, the best solution is simple, though it can be a hassle at first: Change doctors. 3. Never trust a doctor who says, 'Your file is awfully thick' because you've got concerns they haven't dealt with yet. 4. Be alert to how much a doctor talks about him or herself during appointments. They're supposed to be talking about why you are there, not why they're so awesome. That said, Dr. Fruiterman had a fantastic nursing staff in his office; they were very helpful and always available.

Dr. Fruiterman is an awful doctor! I only stayed with the practice because of Dr. Solos now that she has left, there is no way i will ever go back to that practice. I only saw Dr. F. once and that was enough! He has the worst bed side manner and is extremely condesending! To ensure Dr. Solos. would deliver my son, I was scheduled to be induced a week before my due date, however my son came two weeks early and Dr. Solos was on vacation. Therefore i got stuck with Dr. F. doing the delivery! He was the worst doctor ever. I remember asking the nurse (she was an exceptional nurse and did all the work he should have been doing) if she could deliver my son! Dr. Solo's practice is 40 mins from where I currently live however it's so hard to find a doctor like her so it's worth the drive! I hope this information is helpful.

1999 I was refereed to Dr. Fruiterman back in 1998 when I found out I was pregnant.  He is a horrible man who told me time and time again there was nothing wrong with me.  I had toxemia and even the Nurse practitioner said there was nothing wrong with me.  I was passed off to Dr. Solos who knew exactly what was wrong!  She delivered my child 4 weeks early!  I am so glad she left the practice with Dr. Fruiterman, smartest move she could have ever made!  The day after my daughter was born, Dr. Fruiterman was the doctor doing rounds and he told me I better get a bra before I 'looked like one of them Africian woman'.  How is that for a woman who just had a 'C' section and was on all kinds of meds due to the toxemia!   I still see Dr. Solos to this day, almost 8 years later!  It is worth the drive to her new office!

We had the exact same issue with Fruiterman.  When we had our baby 9 months ago he made very similar comments.  Time and time again, we would ask questions and rather than attempt to answer our questions he would tell us everything was okay.

We had a breech baby and we wanted to see if he would turn late so that my wife could deliver vaginally.  It was only we had a specific sit down meeting with him that he actually went over the risks.  In hindsight, I still feel railroaded and misinformed when we made the decision.

Additionally, his office charges the 'specialist' co-pay, despite the insurace card specifically reading that OB/GYN is to charge a $15 co-pay.  As a result each visit is costing us double.  Not to mention that the wait time is in excess of an hour each visit, even for the regular check-ups.  All in all, I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.

One more thing to add is that Fruiterman made the same comment to my wife after she gave birth concerning the bra. Only he changed it up a little bit and mentioned something about the women in National Geographic.

Our baby was born in 2006 so it seems like he hasn't changed much in 5-10 years.
