         BAD EXPERIENCE WITH GREG BERLAND
  I have made a website to show our experience with a doctor.  We brought our six year old in three times for headaches and vomiting.  We were told it was a viral process.  It was a Tumor the size of a tennis ball.   We received a bill from the doctor soon thereafter for missing an appointment.  The appointment was on the day we found the proper diagnosis.  We wrote him a letter responding to the bill.  It gave us a chance to vent. Greg Berland responded without first reviewing his own medical records.  Listen to your children. Visit my site and you will see why I can say that.

Dear Patients First Westchase,
I am so sorry for what has happened to your little girl. I seen her story on ABC, she is truly a sweet child. I have seen your website with the medical records and did not understand how you could be angry with Dr. Berland. He only had seen her once. I have since talked with people who know you and your family and was made aware that you had brought her in to see Dr.Berland 3 times over a 3 week span. I now understand why you made your website. How dare he, his letter speaks volumes about his maturity, and arrogance even if he believed he was correct, he should of never responded. I would call the state and file a complaint. If you haven't already. Then I would seek counsel since it looks like you have a long road to recovery. If he caught the mass in her head earlier, you might not have such a long road or any disability. I guess we will never know. I want to tell you that I think you are a great dad for protecting your child and a brave man for putting this doctor in his place. Good luck to you and your family. Sincerely

Dear Concerned Parents:
I am a former employee of Dr. Berland's and have been privvy to this case. I can honestly say that it is a great possibility that Dr. Berland didn't write that letter, but a member of his management staff, as was prescribed at the time. Dr. Berland is the hardest working doctor I have ever seen during my medical career. The problem may be that his professional staff didn't handle this appropriately for him as they were paid to do.
I would suggest that you and your family move on from this incident and be thankful that your daughter is doing well. General practitioners are just that...they don't specialize in areas of medicine, but address overall health. Parents shouldn't rely on any one source when it comes to their children's health and seek other opinions as warranted especially for symptoms lasting more than two weeks. Plainly said, common sense must rule the day and to keep up the smear campaign on a well-meaning doctor is simply overkill...I am glad your daughter is well and I wish you and your family all the luck!
