Not given I am the patient who wrote the initial negative comment that is posted and what is obvious, because of the details provided, is that the defensive comment from 'anonymous' (which comes up on submission as 'Glenbo') was written by either the doctor himself or his staff (which negates the intended purpose of this site in allowing patients to rate their doctors).

Since the private details of my and my wife's medical condition were mentioned, I feel a need to provide some relevant facts. My wife came to Berger with a prominent swelling on her neck that displayed itself as a huge and abnormal lump  (not a 'discomfort' as the doctor's response indicated) and a documented history of a malignancy in her sinuses that had previously been treated with surgery, which Berger fully knew all about and had the full history in his records. My wife actually threw away the muscle relaxer prescription he provided for her apparent new tumor as she left his office at that consultation, knowing that this was a grossly incompetent misdiagnosis and never saw him again. She immediately went to another physician who identified her real illness as (both Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins) Lymphoma, which required surgical removal of the tumor and susequent chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell treatment (stage 4 cancer). Her subsequent physicians were amazed at Berger's incompetent misdiagnosis and the delay he caused in getting proper treatment of such a serious condition. In retrospect, aside from the life threatening issues that needed our full focus at that time, he really should have been sued for malpractice.

Regarding his treatment of me, Berger prescribed herpes patches for me which had nothing to do with my condition; this was prescribed for pain from anemia, a broken arm and an ulcerative condition that I was hospitalized for. There was never any 'narcotic' condition, and his inability to provide proper treatment for my actual ailments is just another indication of his incompetence and professional malfeasance. The doctor really had no concern for me or my wife's condition and in reality was focused on the fact that I had missed two appointments and needed to reschedule them. We witnessed his dismissive behavior with another patient during my hospital stay and I can only conclude that his only real commitment to the medical profession is the revenue his office generates and its income potential. He has no concern for patient well-being or care, negligible interactive skills and is really in the wrong line of work.
