Not given In September 2005 I went to my medical Dr. with a backache. He told me I had a sprang and wanted to send me to physical therapy. Having injured my back in 1993 I knew it wasn't the same and insisted that I have some form of test on my back. The Dr. sent me for an MRI. The MRI found I had uterine tumors (approx a week before this diagnosis the same Dr. had me do a 48hr urinalysis to check for tumors. I was told I was tumor free). I went to my Gyn and did internet research. I decided that I didn't want to have a hysterectomy, so I elected to have a uterine embolization. In Janurary 2006 I had the embolization done. Three months later I was feeling better. Everything seemed to back to normal, until April 2006. In April 2006, I layed down to take a nap, upon waking up I was in so much pain I could hardly stand up. I rested my back for a week. When I got no better and started passing blood everytime I used the toilet I called my medical provider, but was told that the office closed early on Friday and I needed to go to the ER. The ER phyiscian diagnosed me with a bladder infection and gave prescriptions to take care of the problem. Four days into the medicine I wasn't feeling any better. I contacted my medical provider again and was told to come in to the office. I went into see the Dr. where he had me lay back on exam table. He raised my left leg and my right leg and told me I had a back sprang. He gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxer and sent me to physcial therapy. The muscle relaxer put me to sleep. I completed my antibodies and took my pain medicine & muscle relaxer, went to physical therapy, but I got no better; instead I was getting progressively worse. I called my Dr. and left a message on his nurses voice mail begging for help; an hour passed an no one called me back. I sent the Dr. an email asking for help and informing him that I had tried to contact him by phone, but got no response and didn't know what to do. I got a response to my email, but nothing was said about my pain, instead I was chastised for complaining about the lack of response from my Dr. or his staff. I fired off a not to friendly email in reply. The nurse manager called me after my last email and told me that my Dr. wanted me to see a urologist for recurrent UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) and he called in a prescription for another antibody for my "UTI" that I needed to start "immediatley", but he never did a urinalysis (I haven't given a specimen in that man's office since Sept. 2005). I decided to see the Urologist first, and I thank God I did. I didn't have a urinary tract infection, instead the tumors I had been treated for had not responded to the treatment (embolization) but had grown instead (The largest one in the 2005 was described as an apple, but now it was described as being "larger than a grapefruit"). The urologist found the cause of all my pain by ordering CAT Scan with contrast. I met with my Gyn and recieved a hysterectomy. There may not be anything that I can do about the treatment that I recieved, but I just couldn't say nothing.
