Took more than a year to diagnose my child and even still seems to be looking for other causes to put blame on. Seems timid to take a firm stand. Overly cautious and inconsistent. Says will start one treatment then changes her mind the next appt. Seems sure one appt then questioning herself, as if she forgot all she had said prior, the next. Sometimes wants to 'barter' for treatment....promises a treatment, then when it is time to deliver, says I will now consider this treatment if you child guarantees to do such and such (unrelated to the treatment). My child has complied with all that has been asked but feels he is being asked to jump through hoops to be treated. Has lost trust in this and several other drs as a result. The dr gets distracted with her large pt load and have had to remind her of important lab work that needs to be done one more than one occasion. She has a kind heart, but I am beginning to seriously doubt her ability to be decisive and committed - caution can be good, but not to this degree. |
