Not given I went for a teeth cleaning and it was my first and last appointment. I had called an scheduled an appointment and asked specifically how long it would take since at the time I was still breastfeeding. My baby was at home waiting for me and I could only be away from home for 2 hours max. They said since it is my first appointment it would take about an hour and 45 minutes. I think I waited about an hour and 10 minutes before I was even called in!! Meanwhile people were coming and going and I was just sitting there as if I did not have an appointment. I think they were trying to see me in between other "regular" appointments as if I did not have an appointment. Very disappointing. Just as I was about to leave (front desk staff noticed) and I was finally called in. While the waiting room area was made to look really nice and welcoming, once you walk in into the exam rooms or should I say room since it is all one big connected - no privacy - it is like stepping into a whole new world. The world you don't want to be in. Everything looks old, cheap, and dirty...The lady who was with me told me to sit down and I was left there for a while. While I was sitting in the chair looking around, I glanced to my left and saw and heard a pregnant girl who was getting work done. She was crying in pain. This was a bit too much for me. After sitting there for a few minutes, I decided to leave. I hated what I saw but then the women reappeared and started asking me some questions. She was rude and had bad attitude. She ordered me to "sit appropriately!" because I had placed my feet on the side since I was getting ready to get up and leave. She started to pressure me or to push a sale on me for a Sonic toothbrush and a flossing device saying that the Dr. B wanted her patients to use these. I told her I had an oral B toothbrush that I was happy with and was not going to change it but she just rudely responed, "you will have to discuss this with the hygienist." as if I had no saying whatsoever in terms of my choice of toothbrush!! This woman who was with me then said that the hygienist took the rest of the day off and that I would have to come back again for the teeth cleaning! I was very upset because the reason I made the appointment in the first place was to get my teeth cleaned in one visit plus I had waited for more than an hour and a half and no one ever told me the hygienist was out. I would have never waited had I known that. Then the Dr, showed up and checked my teeth and said all was ok. The Dr. was chatting a lot and acted as if we had known each other for a long time. This was my first time there ever!! I expect a more professional behavior from my doctors/dentists. I did not get a good vibe from her. My visit was an overwhelmingly disappointing experience. The reason I gave the office staff a rating of 5 was because I had called to request that my record be sent to me and they said they would do this but I never got it. I called to let them know and they said they had mailed them to me. Again I never got it. After three phone calls and no results, I ended up driving to their office where they finally gave me my records back except for an x-ray. They wanted to charge me a fee for that. I ended up scheduling an appointment with Dr. Jack Lewright and had a much better experience. Short wait time (10 minutes) and got the teeth cleaned in the same visit. He has a great staff and great exam rooms. Super nice equipment, privacy, and his staff and the doctor himself treated me with great respect which is exactly what I expect. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the hygienist there Jackie was super nice and she actually smiled when she talked unlike the women who was with me at Dr. B's office.

The only thing I want to comment on is that I have been a patient for 10 years at Dr. B's.  I have also been a patient at many other M.D.'s, Optometrist, Podiatrist's offices and I wait, yes, I wait and wait sometimes, but you cannot help the fact that on that one day maybe something came up that the doctor had to handle and she would have given you the same courtesy as she was giving her other patient.  Now, young lady, it sounds to me like you are use to what I call West Texas Cowboy dentistry where you can stroll on in, get your teeth cleaned (and how do they know over the phone just what kind of cleaning you need since you are an adult?) you never have to wait, and by golly you are just something special!  Dr. B is the most generous, friendly (due to being a real person, not a fake) and kind hearted dentist I have ever in my 84 years and believe me, I have seen a lot of these good ole West Texas Boys.  Matter of fact, for the past 60 or 70 years what they wanted to do is 'yank' a tooth, 'take an order from me like I know what I need', 'put a filling on top of another filling', never check my gums to see what exactly I do need, never gave me a full treatment plan or told me what it would cost exactly.  I have had dentist nearly kill me with the needle and I can say, Dr. B is the smoothest, fastest, and greatest dentist I have ever gone to in my entire life, but I'm in my 80's so, hey, what the heck do I know right?  I came to her because finally, she put my wife's whole mouth back together so that she could smile, eat, and be happy again after several of those good ole boys kept on patching and patching up her teeth, and she could only eat soft food.  And, Dr. B. has never cleaned anyone's teeth that I know of on the first appointment, she will do a complete exam first...now, doesn't that make more sense to do an exam to see just what kind of cleaning you might need.  Do you know young lady that I have had these West Texas Docs clean the calculus that was on my teeth..ha....didn't even know I had gum disease, although over the years I lost quite a few teeth due to that one mistake they would all seem to agree to make.  Yep, I'm glad she doesn't just clean calculus and take orders.  You also complained about how many people were coming out while you waited.  Well, did you know that she has a hygienist that is cleaning teeth every so many minutes, and that others have made appointments before you and these were probably the people coming and going like you say?  You know, just like at a real doctors office, people come and go and you don't know why, now do you.  You assume a lot, like the girl crying because she was in pain, have you read Dr. B.'s ads.  She has never hurt me one time, not my wife and our whole family and nearly the whole dead gum church and neighborhood see her and not one time has she hurt people, now, do you think that the girl could have been crying for another reason, like a million other reasons?  My dear young lady, yes the waiting room is beautiful, but she does not drill teeth in the waiting room, why, I have never seen a doctor drill teeth in a waiting room, and also, did you know that she bought a children's practice and since she came to town has hit the ground literally running because she is so good, so friendly and does not HURT anyone....probably doesn't have the time to shut down and redecorate the back, but she does have all new dental chairs, the equipment is new.  Nothing is dirty because she has floor people, sterilization personnel that most docs do not have, but she works out of 6 chairs not one, or two..six chairs.  Also, in going back and forth to read your comment I noticed that you were expecting something that Dr. B. actually has never done since she got out of school and that is make an appointment for an exam and then a cleaning in the same day.  You know that hygienist of hers is busier than a hornet, now, that simply is not done in an adult office.  Maybe you made a mistake and called the wrong office.  But the girls at Dr. B.'s have a reputation for being the friendliest, most beautiful women in San Angelo.  But you know what, we all see the world from our own head, and since you just had a baby, maybe it just wasn't a good day for you.  Maybe you should have not expected so much.  Did you know that Dr. B. has actually adopted 3 children that are not her own, that she has raised her own 3 children alone, put herself through school, dental school, bought her own practice and still is friendly, nice, pleasant, oh, and did you ever meet a Cajun...well, you just don't know these people.  They are some of the nicest and friendliest people on earth, they never meet a stranger, they have usually difficult lives, learned to overcome their problems without the help of antidepressants and I will tell you this, I respect Dr. B. more than any woman other than my own wife, and hats off to her for putting my mouth back together also, warning me of the gum disease that was destroying my teeth, showed me how I didn't have to wear dentures after all and made me the happiest man on earth.  God Bless you and your little baby.

any years.  Fine Catholic man..

I was introduced to Dr. B through a friend of mine.  The comment out of her mouth after 'Hello' was 'You drink and eat to much caffine and chocolate and your teeth are really bad!'  I had always taken care of my teeth and I knew I had a some issues with them but they were not noticable to everybody when I smiled.  She stated call my office and I will help you out. So I did, I went in her office was very nicely set up and the staff were extremely sweet.  They called me back into the office, she greeted me with such kindness, I thought she is in a good mood.  Then as she started looking at my teeth she started yelling at me telling me about the issues wrong with my teeth and how stupid I was to not take care of them.  I of course could not yell back at her cause she had my mouth pinned open and I was stuck in the chair, afraid to say a smart ass remark back to her cause she might stab me with the teeth pick she had in her hand. Then the proceeded to me that I needed this special tooth brush and this special machine and this and that yad yad yad, yeah right!!  I'm  not about to go into debt over special clean materials for my teeth, it is cheaper to purchase dentures than to buy that junk she was selling.  Needless to say according to her I had well over $9,000.00 of damage in my mouth!  They tried to get me sign a contact I refused stating I was going to get a second correct opinion.  I walked out of  that billing office into the lobby toward the door but not before grabbing a handful of the free variety teas they had sitting there and didn't even want to look back. I did get a second opinion and I had two cavities and that was the extent of my damage but they were no where near $9,000 worth of damage!!!

Caffeine has absolutely nothing to do with bad teeth.  You must have admitted that 'chocolate' was your habit of choice or she would have never mentioned it.  How do you know they are not noticeable to everybody?  People are usually sensitive enough and do not say anything about one's teeth out of politeness.  After the doctor looks at ones teeth she doesn't start yelling.  It might have felt like yelling because no one ever told you anything about your teeth as you just stated.  The doctor's manner of speaking is not to say you're stupid, those are your words, and now probably your own feelings about not taking care of your teeth.  These words are coming from you, it is your opinion only.  Just read your own post, look at the trashy words you use because you are anonymous, the allegations you use that she might 'stab' you.  Those words are your own.  Yes, you probably did need that special toothbrush, and that special machine.  I bet you have a special 'phone', a special 'computer', but a person like you would never admit that there's anything wrong with their teeth therefore the suggestion of getting what you needed to solve the problem 'you' thought you had or you would not have been at a dentist's office to begin with is beyond your thinkingness.  Since you didn't think anything was 'wrong' with your teeth, or if you did think something was wrong but 'no one ever noticed', your words, her suggestion was not what you wanted to hear, therefore this 'blaming post', slamming her name, her reputation makes you feel better.  This shows exactly what kind of patient your were.  Your ignorance about dental health is shown to the world here by saying, 'you were not going to go into debt by purchasing what would have saved them.'  An intelligent person would never think that ripping out ones teeth because they did not want to take care of them is the better solution.  This shows how 'non-survival' you think.  Although you have no idea that you don't just buy one denture, you get to buy them every 5 years because the teeth are made of plastic, you chew through them, and buy another one.  Over a lifetime you can buy, depending what age you start, 10 sets of dentures.  At $2500 a set, this would be $25,000.  But you would rather spend $25,000 than buy a $125 toothbrush.  Now that does make sense, just not to anyone but you.  She never sold junk, she only sold the top of the line brushes to help patients, educate them on how to save their teeth, she saved thousands of patients from making a mistake that you think is a much better solution.  I am positive you had $9000 worth of damage, and by now probablyl $20,000 worth of damage as you are not one to be responsible and handle small things but wait until they are out of hand.  Most patients do not have $9000 worth of work to do, only those that neglect and do not take advice from the very dentist they made an appointment with.  You even admit to being a theif here.  You thought it was your right to 'steal' from the office before walking out.  You are showing the world what kind of person you are, not the doctor.  You are irresponsible, do not take professional advice and never did or you would not have been in the shape you were in, you are a thief because you admit you thought she 'owed' you.  Isn't that the Welfare Mentality that doctor's have to deal with every day of their lives.  Thank you for your post, you have allowed the world to see just what kind of people Bash the good doctors that have suffered through school, paid the price with $100,000 of tuition, studied for years and years to help people like you, and this is what they deal with, daily.  I am sure the good doctor has forgiven you for your blasphemous post, unintelligible comments and the theft of the teas so kindly put there for her 'real patients'.
