I was turned down by a differant doctor, I was actually told I had a degenartive eye condition. So, my mom who had continued to use Dr. Kleiman talked to him about me. He said it was not that bad, normally they just fit you with special contacts and that stops the degeneration. Which was what I had been told elsewhere. So far, two matching stories. Ok, I was the first in my family to Use David Kleiman back when I started wearing Hard contacts in the 70s. So, at my moms suggestion I had him do an exam. I trust him. He said after the exam that my eyes had been scared due to wearing contacts. And I did not have a degenarative eye condition at all. Good news. I ask if I could do lasik, and they said more tests. All tests were done in a private room. I was treated with respect, and well cared for thru out the whole thing by his staff. Every one was very professional. I was told It would be up to the Surgeon, but it was a pretty close call as to how good of a candidate I was. They have to have some tissue to work with. I was just barly over the minumum of tissue they needed to call it safe. So, it was up to him. He reviewed my file and said he felt he could do it and assure good results. So, I went in knowing I was not the perfect candidate. And I did not get perfect results. But I got really good and close to perfect results. And I am very happy. I have since passed the eye exam with the DL dept of public safty. I could see the day after, I recall looking for my glasses and realizing I had no need for them. It was sorta funny. I have followed up, and its been a year now. I can see very well, I drove to Colorado Last summer after the surgery alone. And @ night. Talk to some people and see if they are rattled by driving at night after Lasik. One of my friends had his done at the place I was turned down and he is scarred to drive at night. I am happy, Very happy. Im glad, I was scarred, but now I am very glad I did it.
