I came to find Dr. Berry after a long string of bad experiences with OBGYN's.  My first pregnancy I was with a midwife, their lackadaisical approach resulted in my baby dying in the 2nd trimester.  So, my next pregnancy I wanted to be ultra-vigillant and saw a high risk doctor...she was even worse!  So, I began interviewing every doctor in my area, and was extremely please by Dr. Berry.  He was the perfect middle ground between a midwife and a high risk OBGYN.  His c-section and episiotomy numbers were the lowest I've ever seen.  He's not a fan of induction or other non-essential medical interventions; however he also has the medical know how to intervene when necessary.  He was also the ONLY doctor in all of northern VA that I could find that was able to do a 'walking epidural'.  He sat down with me and read over my birth plan and was more than willing to give me the birth that I wanted--he was the first doctor that treated me as a person.  He is also the first doctor who didn't rush me in and out of the room.  Dr. Berry believes in what he does, and is very passionate about birthing healthy babies.  Most women I've talked to either love him or hate him.  He won't hesitate to tell you the truth--if you are repeatedly doing something that is unhealthy for you or your baby (smoking, drinking, not eating right if you have gestational diabetes, etc.), he will bring it to your attention, he won't sugar coat the truth.  I personally LIKED that aspect of Dr. Berry.  I highly recommend this doctor!!!
