2010 I have been a paitent of Dr. Wrights for about 3 years now.  I  had several unusual symptoms that have been bothering me for a long time.  I went to doctor after doctor and none of them would listen to me.  On my first visit with Dr. Wright she told me she might not know what is wrong with me today, but she promised me she would do everything she could to get to the bottom of my problem.  I am so glad that she took the time to not only listen to me, but also research my symptoms.  After a short time she was able to find out what my problem was and has been taking care of me every since.  I will NEVER go to another doctor.  She is the BEST!  If you are looking for a doctor who really cares, go to Dr. Wright.

I went to Dr. Wright for the first time last week. She took a lot of time with me as new patient and acted like she really cared about me as a person.  I have told several people in my office to go to her.  A friend of mine went yesterday and said she LOVES her and is so happy I recommended her.  Thank you Dr. Wright for being so caring.

Comments by eaglenest on 09/21/10, 11:49 pm

I decided to research the internet for a physician who would provide not only physical ailments but take a holistic approach to being a care provider. I thought I had found that in Dr. Wright. Her web site states “rare combination of both intellect as well as caring.” I believe someone other than one of her many patients may have written those comments. Her overall rating for herself has been exaggerated. You spend more than the average time for her in the waiting room, she never arrives on time for her first patient.   Her care is less than traditional family health care, she seems to come in exhausted and not ready to serve her patients. One wonders what she is doing not to come in fully rested to care for her patients throughout the day. I believe if there are others out there searching for a new provider you should think twice before you pick Dr. Wright

I have been a patient of Dr. Wright's for 2 years now. Recently, I have noticed a decline in the quality of staff she has hired. I have seen her several times this year, and each time she has a different nurse and front office staff. The current staff is unprofessional and rude.  One wonders what the problem is working at the office. I was seen recently by her Physician Assisant Terry and was disappointed. She seemed obsessed with asking very personal questions that were not relevent to the reason I was there. She made me feel very uncomfortable! i would not see her again. In addition, I waited over 2 hours to be seen for a simple condition that should of taken about 15 minutes. There is not consistency in the staff and lately in the quality of care at Dr. Wright's office.  I have decided to change doctors.

Comments by bluclouds on 10/02/10, 11:02 pm

I also was seen by her physician assistant Terry.  I waited 1.5 hours before I was seen by her. She ordered many unnecessary blood tests and still misdiagnosed me and ordered a medcine for me that i was alergic to.   I was stuck with a 423.00 bill from her lab company. I would not see Dr. Wright's assistant anymore.  Demand to see Dr. Wright or don't waste your time seeing her nurse assistant.  Also, her office charged me the same amount to see Dr. Wright's assistant as I would have paid to see Dr. Wrgith.  Doesn't make any sense that i should have to pay the same amt to see a pa and a md.  I would not recommend the physician assistant only the real dr. - Dr Wrgiht

Comments by pupluvr89 on 10/03/10, 10:12 pm

I stopped going to Dr.Wright for various reasons. I don't understand some of the comments about her and her office. I wonder if they were written by her staff and maybe herself.
She was once a very caring physician.  Seems like here recently, her staff is constantly changing. I  believe she has had at least three different nurses in the past year. Her current nurse assistant  is friendly but unprofessional. Seems like there is much gossip among her staff concerning Dr Wright and her  assisant..  I was aware of this just from waiting in the waiting room and back room for my visit.  The atmosphere there is that of much disresprect.  Dr Wright needs to become aware of the gossip and clean house.
I wonder if they discuss me and my family  as soon as we step out of the office.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Wright  for some time now.. We loved Dr.Wright but lately have noticed a big change in her office.  She seems too distracted and sometimes too arrogant. Her assistant seems ok but not sure of herself.  She does not seem to listen well and is ready to write a presctiptions.  Her receptionist is abrupt and only concerned about collecting our money. After our  last visit to her office very recently,  we decided to change doctors as well.

Comments by litlbit on 10/06/10, 11:01 am

Dr.Wright herself is great.. I don't know what is going on with her or the office howevr  if you see Dr.Wright herself you won't be disappointed! Wait is long, but its ok.

2009 One of the best doctors that I have ever received health care from. Dr. Wright has provided the type of health care I have been looking for in the past 20 years.  I would recommend Dr. Wright to anyone who needs a new physician.

Aimee is a good doctor.  I haveseen her a dozen times over the last couple years.   However her office staff is extremly rude.  I have always tolerated it but after a tiff with the office manager today.. I can say we would recomend anyone seeking out this office.   There is no telling how much $$ they have made off me(and my insurance)) ,for them to treat me like that is unacceptable.  Amiee you need to clean house as the others have suggested..

Not given I've said it before, but not given a 'scorecard.'  Dr. Aimee is caring, concerned, professional, spends quality time with her patients, and is extremely knowledgeable.  She has one staff member that is brusque, but that person also does collections, is darn good at it, and it takes a certain personality to do that.  I believe, personally, this is why that office staff person is cranky and not good as a receptionist.  You have to be willing to speak to anyone but her, example, as to speak to Susan or Diana ... it's as simple as that.  The nurses are well trained, kind-hearted, and are willing to listen to your symptoms and medication refill needs.  This enables Dr. Wright to come into the visitation room and get down to the brass tacks of your personal medical situation.  Her many years as an RN is what makes her bedside manner so excellent ... and her knowledge so vast.  I've known her to always give samples to certain members of my family who had no insurance, and I've also known her to take a pittance from insurance companies because they simply don't want to pay anything beyond the patient's copay.  Anyway, I will stop writing this novel and simply state this:  Do something wonderful for you and your entire family and all of your friends ... schedule an appointment with Dr. Aimee Wright.

Dear 'WhyTry'/'WhyTry1',
I'd prefer to send you a personal e-mail, but since you didn't give an e-mail address this is my only option. First of all, this seems personal for you. Otherwise, why would you spend so much time and energy complaining on the internet?  If you are so unhappy with the staff and don't feel that the wait is worth it, why don't you just change doctors and move on, instead of slamming me repeatedly on the internet? You have apparently opted for e-mail notification of new comments so that you can log back in and slam me again.  And if it is personal, then you and I must have connected, which means you have been the beneficiary of my unhurried approach to healthcare.  Something doesn't add up...
Second, I have to strongly protest that I  never apologized for running late. I have no problem apologizing, and do so quite regularly. I make a concerted effort to be respectful of my patients' time, but as a family physician, my priority is on providing quality medical care for my patients and their families.  I never know how long a visit might take, and neither does the patient.  But I spend as long as is necessary to address all pertinent issues and answer all questions to the best of my ability, and provide a plan of action that makes sense to both me and my patient.  If it's a sinus infection, it'll probably be less than10 minutes.  If it's something complicated, exotic, mysterious or psychological (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc) it may take 30-40 minutes or more.  But rest assured, by the time you leave my office you will know what the plan is and will feel like your doctor listened to your concerns and addressed your needs.
Case in point, I had a patient today who made an appt for 'vomiting'. Usually it's a virus and pretty straight forward.  Not today.  I ended up having to call 911 for her and have her rushed to the ER as her throat was swelling shut before my very eyes.  This all happened in front of her 13 year old daughter, who was the only other person in the car with her mom today.  The ambulance personnel preferred not to have her ride with them since she's a minor (or something like that), so I placed a call to my patient's brother, informed him of the situation, and asked him to come pick up his niece from my office.  I then spent the next 15 minutes comforting the girl, who was understandably distressed and crying uncontrollably. When the brother/uncle arrived, I personally spoke to him and explained what happened and what to expect, then gave him directions to the hospital.  I did not delegate these tasks to a less well-trained, less qualified person. I did them myself, and was happy to do it.  It did not seem appropriate to do otherwise in this situation.  I'm not boasting that I'm the only caring doctor in town, because I'm quite sure that I am not.  But I am one of a dying breed of family physicians who care more about their patients and the satsfaction of a job well done than they do about making as much money as possible each day.  Don't get me wrong, I have to make a living and I have to pay my employees, vendors, mortgage, lights, water, phone, insurance, et cetera, et cetera.  If not, I can't be of any help to anyone. But my primary objective is to be the best doctor I can, and give each patient the same thoughtful consideration that I would give my own family.
Third, and final comment on this subject: If I took all the calls that came in each day from people asking for me, I would not have time to see the patients that are here, and the wait would be even longer.  If someone feels the need to complain to me about my staff, why not just wait til your next appt and bring it up then? Or if you feel it is so urgent that it cannot wait and must be brought to my attention immediately, a written complaint delivered by US mail will definitely get my attention.  Slamming me on a website, with no specific info provided about what the problem has been, serves only one purpose, and that is to
provide 'a written or published statement that conveys an unjustly unfavorable impression without just cause, that tends to expose me to public contempt', which Webster Dictionary's definition of libel
Please, please go find yourself a doctor who will give you 10 minutes, 3 prescriptions, and very little explanation; but has a pleasant staff and runs their day by the clock.  There are lots of them!  It's time for you to move on and let this go. A counsellor may be able to help you with the letting go part, but we will both be much better off!
I sincerely wish you all the best,
Dr. Aimee Wright

I just left Dr. Wright's office after  being a regular patient for 6 years. I followed Dr. Wright from her first office all the way to where she is in Plano now. I would still be seeing her but my family moved to Lewisville and with a 2 year old I couldn't make the drive any longer. Prior to having my daughter, I received excellent care always from Dr. Wright.

Dr. Wright helped me manage my ashtma and any other health issues that arose over the years. She always found time at the end of each appointment to talk to me about what was going on in my life. She genuinley cares about her patients and I felt after seeing her for so many years she was as much a friend as my doctor. Again, I must reiterate I only left the practice because of an almost 40 minute drive and not being able to do it with my 2 year old in tow. I see another doctor in Flower Mound who I like very much. I do not love them the way I did Dr. Wright. You will not be able to find another Dr. that has the excellent bedside manner that Dr. Wright does. She will do what she has to do to get to the bottom of whatever is going on with you.

I remember after having my daughter I suffered many different health issues. I became depressed and needed to talk. She knew this and after my appiontment she gave me advice and comforted me. She took this time out whenever it was needed and you knew she really meant it. What other Dr. out there creates these kind of personal connections with each and every patient?

Yes at times the wait is kind of long. I never cared because I knew that Dr. Wright was giving each patient the kind of excellent care she would provide me with and that is what made the appointments run late. She never rushes and does a very thourough job.

I really wish the bashing of Dr. Wright would stop. I wish others like me would take the time to tell their personal stories and share their positive experiences with others. I hope you give Dr. Wright a try.

Lastly I would like to thank Dr. Wright for doing such an excellent job managing my care for the last 6 years. You are very much missed and I hope at some point we can hook up for coffee and catch up. You are not only and excellent Dr. but an excellent human being. Keep up the good work  Dr. W!!

Love,
JDLF

Dr. Wright was my doctor for many years until I was transferred with my job.  I hated losing her as a doctor because I liked her so much.  It's hard to find a doctor you're comfortable with that does such a good job.  She always had me feeling better in no time and her caring personality made you feel at home.  If I ever get transferred back to Dallas there is no doubt who my doctor will be .  I miss her and can't imagine using anyone else.  Wish I could wait 35 minutes to see her.

2005-2008 Dr. Wright has been taking care of me, my 3 sons, and now my new daughter-in-law for a few years now. I have referred so many people to her that I've lost track. I've never had a doctor who spent the time to get to know me and my family like she has. She remembers my boys' names, and details about their lives and mine that I know she hasn't written down. It's just that for once,  a doctor listens, pays attention, and gives a damn about ME, not the money or the time on their watch.
She also has common sense, which is hard to find these days, and if something doesn't add up, she'll get to the bottom of it. A lot of doctors give a quick & easy answer, but that's because they don't give things thoughtful consideration like she does. In my family we've had this experience twice after going to urgent care or the E.R., where they gave us a diagnosis and a prescription, which didn't fix the problem, and Dr. Wright had to clean up their mess. Which she did.

Sometimes, I have to wait a while, but I know that when its my turn, I won't be rushed, and she won't be standing in the doorway trying to escape before all my questions are answered. She's even asked her nurse to call to check on me a couple of days after I saw her and was having an emotional meltdown because of major  job stress, so I know she doesn't just forget about me as soon as I leave.  I'd pay extra if I had to (thankfully I don't!) and wait however long I had to to get this kind of care. She's incredible

Not given Dr. Wright has been an amazing doctor to me. She was referred to be by a co-worker when I first moved to town. Since then, I have referred 3 people to her. I drive 45 minutes to see Dr. Wright because I have moved since I started seeing her. She is worth every minute of the drive. Yes, you might have to wait to see her but it is worth it. Bring a book or your computer. I check emails while I am waiting. I have never had a doctor care so much about me! It shows in everything she does. If you are mad about the wait time then go to one of those doc in a box places where you will never see the same doctor twice. She takes time to listen to how I am feeling. Someone wrote that it is hard to get in to see her. I have always been able to make same day appointmentsÂ….and I have made my fair share of them. When I call, it seems like the nurses remember me and care as much as Dr. Wright. I missed an appointments because of a scheduling error and her office called my cell phone and where genuinely concerned why I wasnÂ’t there. They didnÂ’t care that I missed the appointment but wanted to make sure I was okay because I never miss appointments. Trust meÂ…she is an amazing doctor.

Are you crazy or just stupid?  Get over yourself...it is obvious that you are just out to get her.  Most people DO love their doctor and will defend them.  Get off your soap box. If you don't want to go to her again then don't, but you need to stop talking about someone who takes care of me, my family and my friends.  She is the best doctor I have ever been to and I will continue to go to her and refer her.

2003 to present
I have been going to Dr. Wright since I moved to Texas in 2003. Since that time I have recommend her to over 30 people, many of which still see her today, including my husband, my daughter, my ex-husband, his wife and many friends and co-workers. She has always been pleasant, attentive, caring, knowledgeable and concerned about any issues I have ever brought to her attention. I have never had any difficulty getting an appointment to see her, for myself or my family. She has called me at home to answer questions I’ve had after visits and has even walked me through late night fevers with my child. She is truly a doctor who cares about the patients she treats.
I will be the first to tell people that when you make an appointment with her, you will wait in her lobby quite awhile, but that is because she gives every patient the time and attention they deserve and I am willing to wait for that myself. (Bring a book!) Your doctor should never be someone who rushes you in and out just to get on to the next patient.
In the years I have seen her, she has gone through different staff issues, having moved her office twice to finally find the right home for her practice. Through this time, I have always found her staff to be helpful  and friendly – not always as knowledgeable as I would like as everyone must learn when they are new – but helpful and know where to turn to find the answers they don’t have.
Overall, my experiences have always been above and beyond what I would expect from any doctor and I will continue to recommend Dr. Wright to anyone looking for a quality, caring professional doctor.

Since 2003

I LOVE Dr. Wright - I've been seeing her for 5 years now and will continue to do so. My husband started going to her after listening to me rave about her so much

She truly listens to you and takes your information into account - after all, people know their own bodies and if something just 'feels off'.  She figures out what the problem is and tackles it head on with a no-nonsense approach that I find extremely refreshing.

Occasionally I have waited a bit once inside the exam room, but nothing that I would find unacceptable nor is it a consistent event.  Frankly I would wait till the cows come home if it meant that I could still have her as my doctor

2007 I recommend Dr. Aimee to everyone.  My entire family sees her.  Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but only because she is not a '10 Minute' doctor.  She is very genuine and approachable.  She usually gets us in on the same day we call if we request it.  She was recommended to me by a friend and I have recommended her time and again to all my other friends.  Check her out.  I promise you will not be dissappointed.

2006 This is the best doctor I've ever been to.  She genuinely CARES, LISTENS, AND HAS COMMON SENSE!!  I had to wait too long in the exam room, but she was worth it!  I had a problem that 4 other doctors had not diagnosed correctly, but had rushed me thru and given me an expensive prescription which did not help.  Dr. Wright talked to me, listened to me, ordered a few blood tests, and gave me a correct diagnosis a few days later.  This is something the other doctors should have caught, but didn't.  I will go to her for as long as she's here in Dallas.  I've taken my husband and 2 kids there as well, and now our whole family loves Dr. Wright!
