Response by squeakie on 07/29/10, 5:48 pm:

Dear sickofdrs: If you think he turned you into a junkie, maybe you should take a look at yourself and accept the responsibility yourself.  You didn't have to take pills until you got dependent.  Dr. Pilgram prescribes to help people.  He hates to see people in pain.  I am taking lortabs for my disease, and if it ever went away, which it won't.  It's a lifetime disease.  But I only take them when I absolutely have to, to get through the day.  Pain pills are supposed to take just enough pain away so you can function.  They are not meant to be taken until you feel nothing.   Just because they say you can take the every 4-6 hours, you don't have to.  You take them when you absolutely have to.  Sometimes I can go 8 hours without taking them.  Get a grip on yourself and stop blaming others for your problems. As for his staff, they are great!  Haven't you learned yet that people treat you the way you treat them?  I've been seeing Dr. Pilgram for eight yearsm, I drive 150 miles one way for my appointments, and the staff always manage to take good care of me, even with their busy office. What are you? Fourteen?  Do you expect everyone to do what YOU want?  Well, the world doesn't work that way.  We all have to contribute the best we can and stop blaming others.  When you first started seeing Dr. Pilgram, you had to complete a questioneer and if you violated the rules listed there, Dr. Pilgram had the right to "fire" you as a patient.  Evidently, you did not follow the rules!  He is not dishonest by any means, and has more integrity than any doctor I've seen before.   I'm 65.  That's a lot of doctors!  I cannot believe you would write such things about him when it's probably YOU that's the problem, not him.  Ask any of the multitudes of people I know:  He's a wonderful doctor!

Response by lenny on 07/29/10, 12:28 am:

ok lennygirl, im sure you're one of his girlfriends, gee you're a bit too overly concered. there is a police report that was filed right after this happened, i went right to police, And he was reported to the medical board who looked into the matter further and found that there was reason for investigation, and check out NY doctors license page, he's had two settlements out of court, hmmm. Those are your only questions i will answer, i gues if e did this to your daughter, you'd still think he was a "great" doc. Oh his play toys referred to the women he uses, the oldr women, I'm not old so im not attracted to people like him, i mean you've obviously seen him, and, um...yuck! All I can say is think what you want. I truly don't care. not concerced about :other girls" i meant the affairs he starts with vulnerable women and the many other girls hes done this too. I truly adores dr. Escobar when i went there for the first time, but then i saw marin the next time. Even when i told Dr. Escobar what happened, he said he does it to so many women and when he confronted marin, marin just said, "the just want my $"  he said he didn't believe it when the first girl told him but then  it happened again and again, even the girls in theoffice know, do me a favor, call the office and ask them if he's been accused multiple times of misconduct, by law they have to answer truthfully, The physicans assistant that heard everything was the one who told me to go to cops, then she (teresa) was fired. There is major stuf going on with this but i can't talk about it just yet. And lastly, my only "concern" is to stop him from doing this to people. It's not right, you're supposed to be able to trust your doc. AND it is being handled in other forums, thank you.

Response by Lennygirl on 07/28/10, 11:48 pm:

Ok, lenny. Lets work through this logically. First off, I have seen Dr. Marin many times, and he is a professional and trust worthy Dr. He does have a large personality to him, but that isnt necessarily a bad thing. Futhermore, while I do not know first hand, I find your accusations questionable. Here is my argument: 1. This web site lacks ANY and ALL accountability. It does not even require an email address. 2. In correspondance to point '1.', Would this be the proper forum for you to make your case? on a website that requires absolutely 0 burden of proof? even if it were true, you'd be a fool to persue such a personal matter on this website. 3. You said it happend three years ago??? well, than im assuming you havnt reported to any real agency, or they have found your accusations lack truth, otherwise he would have had his lisencse suspended years ago...? 4. One of the users claimed that you may be his 'ex wife'... While i do not know his personal life or who you are 'lenny', though obviously a female by your refrences to yourself, there is one peice of evidence i found in favor of you possibly being his exwife, indeed. Or maybe even an ex girlfriend. The proof is in many of your comments, however I will gladly highlight the most recent and easy to find. You said, 'Again, obiviously this is dr. marin himself or one of his 'girls' posting any decent comments or rebuttals. (-:'...    . This suggests that you are concerned about other girls who he may be dating. You even refer to them as his 'toys' in another comment. This sounds like a hostel woman who is concerned wit the Dr. is sleeping/ and a great deal of concern towards his personal life. What 'molesty' would be concerned with such things? more so, this is sounds to me like a jelous an angry ex?   I wont go as far to say that I would feel badly if I am rebuttling against truthful statements, only because if your statements are true you should handle the situation in a real forum and effective manner, not just write nonsense on a website that dosnt even require an email address... best of luck

Response by gratefulpatient44 on 07/28/10, 10:50 pm:

Dr. Burke is the only surgeon I trust. He is an extremely gifted surgeon who gives all his patients the best result he can with what he has to work with. If you have reasonable expectations, he can meet and sometimes exceed them (it happened to me). I have to think that if you had seen a doctor that did not have his skill and expertise, you would have had far worse results.  I only wish he could fix my wrist. I can't find anyone I trust to do that surgery. I wish you would remove your review. I feel like you are trying to ruin the reputation of a very kind, caring, talented surgeon for some other reason.

I did and he basically yelled at me for doing so. I'm sorry Mr Hartjen my spine is the only one I have and I don't think you or anyone else can give me another one so I do have questions. When someone cut on me they better show up the next day to see how I am doing I don't need the doctor yelling at me after surgery because of the questions I asked. This "doctor" recieved a scrawled note from his teacher about a lack of attentiveness, (The child is in grade one), diagnosed him on the spot with ADHD and prescribed him ritalin. When we asked if she had done other tests she replied she is a doctor and this is her diagnosis, don't question it. We suggested consistant help after school at home or a healthy diet (he mostly gets fed hot dogs and slurpees), she told us that would have no effect, and refused to even discuss non narcotic options. I recently had a breast enhancement performed by Dr. Henry and absolutely love my results. She understood what image I was going for and my body type and gave me exactly what I wanted (32DD). Her staff was very helpful in helping me find ways to finance my surgery and also very friendly.  The only thing I didn't like was that I had a 7:00am surgery and had to wait about an hour for Dr. Henry to get there. I was already so nervous and having to wait did not help. My mom came with me the day of the surgery and I wanted her to help me decide what size, and be there while Dr. Henry drew on me; however- I found it odd that Dr. Henry/the nurse kicked my mom out of the office during my surgery prep, and didn't allow her back in until i was ready to go home and out of surgery. That part scared me as this was my first major surgery and i wanted my mom to be there with me through it all.  I can't complain about my outcome though, and would recommend Dr. Henry one hundred times over.. I followed her instructions and took the medication very strictly and didn't have any complications with infections, etc. Overall, I had a good experience and love my new figure :) :)

I could have written the comments above as if they were my own, based on the experiences I had with Dr Anoushfar over the course of several years. I should have asked more questions at the time, but as I'm not hurting for money so much and had no other dental experience to rely on, I never did, at least not until she started claiming I needed work I suspected I didn't need, and wanted to charge thousands for it. I confirmed she was recommending unneeded work via a second opinion, and I confirmed she was overbiiling me via my insurance (I should not have been paying high copays for the work she was performing). The final straw that finally made me look elsewhere was witnessing the office manager getting into a fight with a customer over the phone who had also clearly had enough, and was threatening to sue for overbilling, etc. The way the office manager handled the situation made me realize these people weren't professionals, they were thugs.

I also had eyelid surgery by Dr. Bassin. After interviewing several board-certified surgeons, I chose Dr. Bassin because of his claim that "he fixes botched surgeries". Well, that should include his own! I have nerve damage over one eye after a year and the areas under my eyes are actually worse than before. When I brought this to his attention he laughed and said I had "unrealistic expectations". My sutures split after 24 hours and, after they were "removed" I was still picking bits of suture material out of my skin a week later. Very shoddy work, and a very arrogant doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Wednesday, July 21, Dr. Charlie Green saved a precious human being.  My son in law was blessed to have an angel by his side.  As my son says, "God put Dr. Green in a special place last night to help one of our families' loved ones.'  My son Tony Blake has asked all of our friends to just take a second out of their day to say a little prayer and thank the Lord for Charlie and allowing him to be where he was last Wednesday night. All the other people who were there to witness this event were so impressed and awed at Dr. Greens ease and patience and rapid quick to action response.  They tell me that as Dr. Green worked on my son in laws heart CPR that he also took the time to teach hopefully some emergency aid in case it were to happen to someone else had he not been there. We all owe Dr. Green more than words can say.   From all of us Thank You               Carmen Blake

My blood pressure problem has been going on for 5 years, and my previous Dr., who moved out of state, had no problem refilling my prescriptions each year, after I had my annual exam. Obviously, Dr. Kellen is trying to capitalize on profits from office visits. In the mean time, I have to run the risk of having a stroke or heart attack. His nurse, Melissa, is also very unfriendly and unprofessional. I would not recommend Dr. Kellen to any one. I am switching Dr.'s.

Jzone is 100% correct!  You honestly sound stupid saying that "board certified isn't the most important thing".  Well, it's not the most important, but it's the best place to START.  You can go with reputation after you find a list of board certified plastic surgeons.  That's like saying, "I'm going to get my teeth pulled by this guy that has been doing it for years.  He isn't a dentist, but people really like him."  You sound stupid. I wish I had been smart enough not to fall for Dr. Gray's sales pitch when I went to his office.  Perhaps then maybe I wouldn't be stuck with the worst breast augmentation I have ever seen.  When I told somebody else that I wasn't happy with my implants, they knew who I went to before I even told them.  He is TERRIBLE. I felt like I was going through a "fast food" breast augmentation.  They had me in and out the back door so quick, I wasn't even awake yet when they were pushing me out.  My husband was worried because my eyes weren't even open.  I was done in 30 minutes!  Please don't end up like me!!  Do your homework and listen to the girls that have been put through hell by this man, not the radio ads!!

Response by Jzone on 07/16/10, 11:54 pm:

Seriously? what have you been smoking? To become board certified in plastics means you have to do 2 years of plastics - which includes cosmetic (simple) and reconstructive surgeries (much more complex and difficult) - then after the two-year program, you will have to train between 1.5 to 2 years in all types of plastic surgeries - not just cosmetics - to be able to successfully pass the boards. The boards in the US certify only the best doctors. Many doctors go for the money, and only do the first two years of plastics, but only concentrate on the cosmetic track. The problem with those doctors is they remain weak when it comes to dealing with complications. All that said, before you even go into the first two years of plastics, you will have to finish 5 years of general surgery. Your esteemed Dr. Gray did not even finish the first five years of general surgery. He dropped out after two years. The guy is a hack when it comes to medical procedures. He's got extensive training and experience you say? yes, he's getting it through unsupervised learning while butchering poor gullible woment. As I said before, the guy might be a hack when it comes to the medical field, but he sure is an awesome used car salesman!

He ought to be in jail for what he does to women's self-esteem.  The sad part is, that I am a woman way below the poverty level.  That $15,000.00 was left to me by a brother who died for his country.  I just wanted to do something for myself to lift my spirits.  I can never tell anyone what I did with that money.  I am so ashamed.  Thank you, Dr. Bassin, for making people feel good.  I guess your wife laughs all the way to the bank.

Doctor Brian Kinney has a wonderful staff that is "always there" for his clients with kind words and follow through phone calls. My initial consultation with Dr. Brian Kinney convinced me he was the right doctor for the procedure I was seeking. I had already had consultations with three other doctors before he was recommended to me. I cannot say enough about this very caring individual. I would recommend Dr. Brian Kinney as one of the finest in his profession.

I also just recently lost my baby girl at 23 weeks. Dr Orhan was, is and hopefully always be my doctor! After I arrived in the emergency room, dr Orhan was called and she came immidiately and delivered my baby. She was taken to NICIU where doctor's fought for her life for half an hour. Dr Orhan talked to me like a mother, she was very calming and she had tears in her eyes. She explained everything to me, what could have happened and we also discussed treatment options for the future. I also have to mention the nurses- they were all so great at St Alexius! Some of them sat by my bedside for long periods of time and just talked to me. I never expected that I will loose my baby, we wanted her badly, I am still in shock and disbelief, still can't function normally, I cry every day, but I would never, ever blame dr Orhan for what have happened. That is just silly and unfair.

Cuidadoeldoctor, I am not confused nor am i misrepresenting any facts. Being that Dr. Henry has never had a patient in the ER for an infection due to a surgery that she preformed, it seems pretty logical that a patient has not been in the hospital for any length of time, including two days. I was just making the time specific to Kamiee.  Im not intentionally misrepresenting anything! Why don't I use my own name? Um because I don't want you knowing my name? Why don't you use your name? I would also not use Dr. Henry's practice as a username because this is not Dr. Henry. I work for doctor Henry. All I want to do is make sure Kamiee is alright and gets the help she needs. Dr. Henry doesn't know her real name and has no records of an infection or an implant rupturing or falling out after 10 days so we are confused about which patient is in so much trouble. How can we help a story? We can only help people which is what we are trying to do.

'Blogger2'  perhaps in your zeal to defend the doctor in question, you have made a mistake.  It is certainly understandable to get confused and misrepresent the facts. However, before responding on a public forum where hundreds of people will read your comments, you really should be absolutely clear on what you are defending.  For instance, you have said once that [[Dr. Henry]] has never had a patient in the hospital for 2 days for an infection'  Only to be followed by 'No patient has ever been in the hospital for an infection from a procedure done by her.'   I'm curious, which one is it? Intentionally misrepresenting the facts is unacceptable, especially if you are indeed speaking in a professional capacity on Henry's behalf.  Perhaps you'd like to recant your statements, 'Blogger and Blogger2?'  And while we're on the subject, if you work for Dr. Henry, why don't you just use your own name or the name of Dr. Henry's practice? It would certainly  sound more professional and authentic if indeed you are truly trying to help Kamiee.

Response by katie9671 on 07/12/10, 10:13 pm:

I had surgery by Dr. Bassin (I think - from some other blogs I've read, he sometimes has associates do his surgery) in 2007, and am forever scarred.  I signed up for a cheeklift and eyelid surgery.  The only thing lifted was the money out of my pocket.  I had to wear sunglasses for months afterward  (even to work)  to hide my horrible result. My sutures opened within a week of the surgery and Dr. Bassin attributed it to the type of sutures.  It is my opinion, which I told him, that he didn't have enough skin to close the incision and they pulled apart.  As a result, I have visible scars both over my eyes and on the sides of my eyes.  My right eye is not symetrical with my left - it is wider open, gaping in the right corner, and the left eye looks pinched.  While the years have lessened the redness of the incisions, the scars are still there. I am reminded of my terrible decision every day when I look in the mirror.  I have consulted with other opthomalic surgeons who have advised it would be best to let the areas recover and eventually try to get some improvement.  At my six month follow up with Dr. Bassin, which my husband attended with me, I cried over my result. I asked for my money back, and was promptly told that was not going to happen.  I presented Dr. Bassin with a letter documenting my disappointment with the surgery, and all he had to say to me was that "he did the best he could for me" to which I told him that if this was the best he could do, I didn't know how he could stay in business.  He did offer to redo my right eye because he did agree that it needed revision.  I did make an appointment to have it redone, but then cancelled it.  I just could not see letting him "try to fix it", as he put it, after how bad the total surgery turned out.   I documented my "progress" with extensive photos, which I would be willing to share if it will help someone else from being butchered as I was.  Be sure to extensively check the credentials of any surgeon you select.  You will have to live with results.  I have discovered, through this website, that Dr. Bassin has had some kind of complaint against him, and I am going to pursue registering a complaint myself, if I still can after all this time.

The best thing I have learned about choosing a doctor is not at how attractive she/he is, or how upscale the waiting room is.  Ask your friends who have had procedures  if they are happy and if their friends going to the same doctor are happy.  See how much marketing the doctor does.  It appears that Dr. Henry does quite a bit of marketing.  I saw her ad in New Beauty magazine...the spread in there is a paid advertisement.   Doctors who obtain wonderful results and have happy patients do not do much advertising once they have been in practice for awhile.    Dr. Henry uses glamour-type shots in her advertisements.   I guess she feels it necessary to show us her beauty.   If indeed she has had a half-dozen suits in less than ten years (I do not know if that is accurate), this is a serious sign that many patients are unhappy with their results and experience.  An attorney can easily look up the number of filed suits and advise.    I hope this helps ladies!

Here are the original scorecard comments, before they might get edited: I got my breast implants done. They look great! Dr. Henry made my breasts beautiful. Before I got the surgery I was so unhappy with my breasts, especially after having two kids. My self esteem was so low and it changed when I went to Dr. Henry! Ever since she did my surgery, my breasts look fantastic and I am very confident in/with my body. Thank you so much Dr. Henry!!! Just a side note, not only was Dr. Henry amazing, her whole staff was. Everyone did everything possible to make me feel comfortable. She has changed my life and I recomend her to all!!! - No where in the comments by 'RoPhlek' does it reveal that this is Henry or an employee of Henry.  But yet, it came from an ISP labeled 'KIMBERLY HENRY MD'.  Normally, we delete suspicious scorecards like this, but due to the legal actions by Henry, it seems appropriate to leave the evidence online as it was and let the public decide for themselves if this scorecard comes from a legitimate patient.

I read the other comments and found none of the  "complaint issues" described. I first visited my regular orthopedic surgeon mid 2009 had an MRI done and he said he would not touch my back with a 10' pole, he recommended Dr. Goll. My first appointment was late 2009 he had read the MRI and had taken several X rays at his office. He explained what I needed was L1 to L2 to L3 to L4 to L5 all fused. To say the least I was very conserned about any type of "back" surgery, I had heard so many horror stories. I had surgery on January 12, 2010, my appointmnet was early morning, he was in the operating room when they brought me in, he told me to relax. I was on the table 4 and 1/2 hours. Later that same day he came to my room gently awakened me and said "I just wanted to let you know what I found inside was exactly what the MRI showed, the surgery went perfect, go back to sleep we will talk tomorrow" . That action alone made me emotionaly comfortable. I have had surgery on other parts and you ususlly have to drag information out of Doctors. I am now 6 months post surgery and am doing perfect. I have had the honor and privilege of being a co-worker of JWJ for the past 4-5 years.  I have personally watched the "trip from hell" she has taken with Kevin Wasco and ,by association, Thedacare.  I have watched her health decline, I have listened to telephone conversations she has had with Kevin Wasco.  I have read both written correspondence and/or e-mail that she has received from both Kevin Wasco and administrative staff at ThedaCare.  I have watched her go from a vibrant healthy individual to someone that is actually struggling to survive as of today.  I must say that JWJ has more integrity than anyone I have ever known.  She is fiercely courageous and her generosity knows no boundaries.  I have read/listened to comments made to and about her from both Kevin Wasco and administrative staff of ThedaCare, and I find both of them (Kevin Wasco and ThedaCare) absolutely disgusting in terms of honesty, integrity, compassion and competence.  JWJ was a victim.  She did not know what she was getting in to.  Anyone who knowingly patronizes either this physician or medical facility, after reading all info that is available to read about Kevin Wasco on the Internet, are volunteers for this type of treatment.  JWJ and her entire family have done a superb job in warning others about this physician.  Heed to those warnings.  You don't want to be the next victim.  There is no place in society for physicians of this caliber!!

I wanted to weigh in as Billy has been our family physician for several years.  We respect Billy so much as a physician that we endured the same types of poor treatment just to continue seeing him.  We had left a physician at the same clinic years before due to the same treatment of the entire group of physicians in that clinic.  Very uncaring, almost cavalier and condescending to patients.  Billy takes his time, explains what is going on, gives the patient time to talk about how they are feeling so doctor and patient are on the same page.  The issue Dolly describes didn't start with Billy until he joined that clinic.  He has since gone back out on his own.  I loved his staff when he was on his own.  As soon as they got to that clinic, they had to abide by the clinic's rules.  That stunk.  Now that he is back on his own again, I think all of this will be better.

A pediatric doctor can be a cosmetic surgeon, a family doctor can be a cosmetic surgeon. This is a loophole in the system. A plastic surgeon needs to be board certified in plastics. This guy is not; he went through his medical school, and afterwards he started his residency in general surgery only to quit after two years. The guy is not even board certified in General Surgery! What does this mean to all you ladies? It meas that if, God forbid, you encounter any complications while under his knife, he would not be prepared (nor trained) to deal with them. In any case, the guy is a great business man. Kudos to him and his marketing team for knowing how to exploit every loophole in the system out there. If people ever find out the truth about him and stop going to him, he would still make tons of money in used cars business

Is your physician’s office manager stable or does she resort to verbal abuse demeaning patients on the internet? Does she overstep her boundaries and think she is a doctor or dentist?  Does she look for constant validation from strangers on the internet?  How does she treat the homeless?  Does she post dangerous incorrect health information?  Is she mature or professional enough to admit when wrong or does she use the alternative and name call and use a foul trashy mouth?  Is she responsible with confidential information?  What kind of background does she come from?  Things to be considered when seeking a physician.   My doctors appreciate these comments when they are caught behind what they think is anonymous as they make referrals and is a reflection on them.

I went to the doctor about a month after the surgery to discuss what to do about the shortness of breath and he told me it was something I was going to have to live with. My general practice doctor has given me a rescue inhaler but it doesn't seem like it helps much. I'm starting to think my shortness of breath is coming from my pulse being so slow. My pulse was about 70 before the surgery and today at my general practice doctor it was 59.

Response by NeverGettingCut on 07/08/10, 9:36 am:

Let me say up front that I am not a patient of Dr. Henry's and I personally never plan to have plastic surgery because I am not a fan of elective surgery. Having patients wait for hours and hours and hours is a sign of a poorly managed practice - not necessarily an indicator of a good doctor. A well managed practice allows for a resonable amount of time for an appointment based on what the visit is for. For example, if a patient assessment is scheduled and the office knows that, on average, the doctor takes an hour per appointment, the visit should be scheduled for at LEASE 50 minutes, preferably an hour. Offices which chronically overbook or "crunch" appointments don't care about patient service and consider their time to be more valuable than yours. Period. They want the money for those visits - and let's face it - plastic surgery is the cash cow of medicine. Insurance does not cover most of these procedures and the price tag is large. Sorry for those who have had bad experiences - my heart goes out to you.

From Dr. Thomas' Office: Unfortunately this patient is not 100% satisfied. However if her concerns would have been brought to our attention we would gladly try to correct any issues if medically possible. All women have a bit of asymmetry to their breasts.  When doing a breast procedure we try to enhance what the patient may already have. However, asymmetry cannot always be completely corrected. That is why the 2nd Dr. may not be able to correct it either. However I'm only speculating because we are not aware or informed of any dissatisfied results. Also every patient is asked to fill out a questionnaire during their last visit and we have no such record or indication of said results. In regards to seeing this patient in an office versus traditional examining room, all of our office space is used for examining patients. Our rooms are 100% private and are created for examination with a full length mirrors and examination equipment. This is normal practices for our office. Dr. Thomas has been in practice for over 29 years and has a flawless track record. Visit his site to see 100's of beautiful before and after results. www.ivanthomasmd.com

After my own experiences and based on other comments on this board I am confident in my conclusion that Dr. Edelson is not only rude, pushy, and greedy, but also unethical.  His modus operandi is to overcharge patients without their knowledge, peddle unnecessary products at ridiculous prices, and schedule superfluous follow-up appointments with the sole purpose of collecting additional payments from insurance companies or ensnaring patients in a 'canceled appointment' scam for which he attempts to collect outlandish fees. There are far too many better dermatologists in New York, who are highly skilled and professional, for anybody to consider Dr. Edelson.  It is in anybody's interest to look elsewhere for their dermatological and/or skin care needs.

I agree, the slience speaks volumes.  It's quite entertaining to see that there are strategically placed 'positive' remarks about how this is a supposed to be about a Dr. and not his religion.  Funny how $cientologists try to sidetrack you like that.  This has everything to do with his affiliation with that relgion and how he uses their methods in his treatment protocols, how to manipulate patients and how his orginization is set up.  You can tell because once an associate Dr. is not 'producing' well enough, they are simply cut and replaced with another.  As a patient I have seen docs come and go in the short time I got sucked into that place.  And on top of everything they cluster book people and have very non-private rooms. Do your research and don't let them get under your skin.  Realize the truth and goto a legitimate place that can really help you, not merely waving a magic wand and suggesting some diet tips that is already out there.

I went to this doctor a few years ago.  Biggest mistake of my life.  My implants were supposed to go under the muscle, they are not.  Now the breast lift I had is useless, the weight of the implant stretched the skin out again and the nipples are so high, they are not covered by any of the nice bras.  The implants also slide into my armpit, ugly.  Then on my tummy tuck, he misaligned the muscles and now the muscular "six pack" is not even, looks funny even in a one piece.
