Response by barney48 on 11/19/09, 9:11 pm:

I have been a patient of Dr. Marciano and Dr. Muraca for 18 years. They are Board Certified Osteopathic Physicians licensed in  N.Y. I was diagnosed with Cancer by one of them and they sent me to Sloan Kettering. I never saw the physician at Sloan Kettering but their physician assistant examined and referred me to surgery where another Physician assistant closed my opening. Obviously Dino you are naive in the way medicine is practiced. Most physicians have P.A.s to take of numerous problems and they are supervised by a physician. The physician works closely with his physician assistant all over the country. Wake up!  Before you slander anyone get your facts straight. I know their office very well and they perform quality healthcare in a time in which medicine has changed.

This in response to Dino45. I am always told who I will be seeing. If i want to see a paticular physician or P.A. I am directed to a specific time or office if they are not available. I am surprised that scorecard allowed you to post a slanderous comment. I am all for your post that you were unhappy you didnt see the physician but they try to accomodate all appointments for whenever that person wants to be seen not when a specific provider is in the office. Do not make false accusations or derogatory comments because it just makes your post not serious and in very poor taste. Stop bashing providers who actually perform a needed service in our communities. We are in desperate need of P.A.s and Family Doctors who are American trained and if you are unhappy with the care they gave you find another provider but dont make libalous comments that may end up haunting you.

Response by Death99 on 11/19/09, 6:55 pm:

They are great doctors ,licensed and board certified. They see many patients but at times I have seen their P.A. . ,Who is great just like them.  Physicians are not robots they cant possibly see all patients but they closely supervise all physician assistants. I too also think Dino has a slanderous attitude and I think he should change his comment if he is dissatisfied with the care that he got he should explain it, if he didnt see the physician so what I see a P.A. in the emergency room ,in the cath lab where they assisted the physician. Dino obviously you do not know what a role a p.a. does in Primary Care. A physician supervises the P.A. closely and doesnt have to see every patient.

I believe he is still in NY, just no longer at Stony Brook.  He was renting a house:  126 Harbor Rd Saint James NY 11780.  Phone number is/was: 631.686.5724. Lots of gossip coming out of Stony Brook.  If you check on the Stony Brook staff directory you will note his contact info was removed at the end of Sept.  Also, just call and ask for him, they will tell you he is no longer there.  He attended the NIH Board of Scientific Advisors meeting on Nov 2.  When asked to give his name and where he worked in this International forum, he said he was the director of the Stony Brook University Cancer Center.  It has been brought to the attention of the NIH that he misrepresented himself, Stony Brook, the NIH, and he was dishonest with his fellow colleagues---guess he didn't want to say he was unemployed.  We'll see if they do anything about it.  Keep in mind, this is all while being paid with tax payer dollars. How are you doing Italianmom?

I had this surgery a year ago and yes it stopped the sweating on my face and head but oh my god. . . . . . I now sit in sweat.  What was worse - having it pour down my face and wrapping a bandana around my head to stop it or sitting in sweat?  My opinion . . I suffered 40+ years I should have just continued sweating on my head and face.  Sitting in sweat is just worse than could be expected.  Even though they told me I COULD experience compensatory sweating, I had no idea it would be this bad.  Poor me.

Floral Beauties--If you are serious about getting plastic sugery, you really need to interview plastic surgeons.  I would suggest that you book consultations with three board-certified plastic surgeons. The American Academy of Plastic & Reconstrutive surgeons will give the the names and contact information for board-certified surgeons in your area.  Also, check out your surgeon with your state medical board for any complaints. It is very difficult for anyone to give you advice over the internet! As you can see from this forum, finding the right surgeon is a very personal matter.

Response by Lost on 11/16/09, 10:36 am:

I have watched my mother spend not hundreds but thousands of dollars on this "service".  Watched her stuff dozens of pills, vitamins and then being talked into coming not once a month, or once a week but daily doctor visits now.  After YEARS of this she is being told that now since the "Dr." visits are NOT helping then she should look into Scientology.  So now she is pouring money into "Scientology".  I wonder if he gets a referral fee for that service?    After all of these treatments... after all of these pills, she sleeps 3-4 hours instead of 2?  She needs more Vitamin D and B???  Somebody honestly help my mother without emptying her wallet.  Humans need interaction, touch so when we go to a doctor who promises us that we will feel good and they touch us here or there when there is a lack of human touch to begin with... well we feel great but its not fixing the problem.  The problem is still there.  They are taking advantage of those who are lost, depressed, sick and desperate.    Those who think the answer is in a pill form, or the twist of a muscle or release of a knot, or even an organization that claims to be a religion which is bogus.  You can't find your happiness in the bible, or scientology books, or any other church.  Its momentary and supportive but you still have to go home and live with yourself.   The peace and serenity you need is within yourself.  Your faith is not in a book but within yourself and you shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars to find enlightenment or faith.    Are you lost?  Want to feel like a million bucks, it will cost you a million bucks.  I am so sick of seeing this...  Never in my life could I imagine that someone who uses the title Dr.  would take advantage of a someone.  This is isn't the first doctor either... the original doctor retired and took her practice to the Bahamas... imagine that...  It's a lucrative business.

Response by sd36 on 11/15/09, 7:33 pm:

You have no idea what Dr. Korsh went through during those trials. He was falsely accused of malpractice and in fact, won all of the cases that weren’t dropped by the opposing parties. The individuals suing him realized that the court would see that he did nothing wrong. Those trials nearly ruined his life and he experienced great pain during those years. Maybe do some research before you start publicly making ignorant statements about other people. He is an intelligent, wonderful doctor. Patients expect doctors to become emotionally involved with their life and medical problems, but that just can't happen because it would cloud their judgment. There is no doubt that he is arrogant, but he is one of the best surgeons out there. Many people fake injuries in order to receive work comp benefits, insurance pay-off, or drugs and he is aware of that fact. I think one could assume that you might be in this category, seeing as he has no reason to treat a patient in actual need poorly. He has helped the lives of countless patients who would otherwise be living in pain. You don’t know him or his life. To say that he isn’t suffering as if you know it to be fact proves that no one should listen to anything that you have to say. It is so hypocritical to say that you wish he would live in his patient’s shoes when you, yourself have not seen life through his eyes. You think that you have all the answers, but I can assure you, you will never know how another person lives unless you have lived their life. Sites like these give people like you a spotlight to say whatever they please without consequences and allow ignorant people to state opinions as if they are facts. If you have nothing better to do with your time, try looking up the WHOLE story before go around acting like you know what you're talking about.

My first experience with the doctor yesterday was some what frustrating. I took my son and she saw him for barely a fraction of a moment. she did not even try and explain to him the various medications she advised to buy from her front office/reception, insisting to come back in two weeks and take an appointment before leaving. I cant imagine if any doctor will be so callous to write medicines and provide an informed perspective to the patient why she is advising so many formulations for application on face, what are the functions and what can be the side effects if any or methods of application. When I prompted her to do so she rushed out pointing to a nurse or Assistant. I am paying the fees for a doctor and want the advise from her straight not from the assistant. My sense was that she stopped to see my son for a bare moment....after I waited three weeks for her appointment. I will never go back to her.

I'm trying to find the right surgeon for body sculpturing, lipsouction is what it is, I am assuming. Or is there something better? Here is an idea of what my body is like...curious if anyone knows what would be best for this..I'm short and not overweight. I am pretty thin and am mainly wanting my tummy area sculpted. I have a "barrel shape" so to say lol I've worked out and dieted a lot. I think I may have quite a bit of muscle in that area. Anyway, the lower abdomen is way to poochy and I'm assuming other women reading this may know what I mean by that. Would liposuction be the best solution for that when it comes to plastic surgery? I'm hoping to achieve a slimmer waistline and flatter lower abdomen giving a small hourglass curve to a flat tummy.

Following a second surgery Dr. Rohrich had to remove the implants which had become infected(Alloderm or Enduragen, I'm still not sure I have been given so many different stories.)  He also did a total nasal debridement, but in spite of all of this he failed to perform a follow up reconstruction, nor did he suggest that one should be done in the future. He stitched me up, discharged me and he took off on holidays.  So much for this caring, long distance after care( phone calls, E-Mails) that another woman raves about.  What criteria do you have to meet to receive this type of concern??  I came from quite a distance as  well, but for some reason I didn't experience this.  Dr. Rohrich thinks it is acceptable behavior to tell me that I have a screw loose and that I should get some counselling.  Dr. Rohrich why don't you make these comments to some of the many Doctors out there who refuse to use these products because they are very aware of the complications involved in using them.  One of these Doctors lives in Tucson, another in Nashua, Chicago, California, Toronto, just to name a few.   Go ahead and try telling these doctors that they need counselling and have a screw loose.  Find out what they have to say.

Response by DrPerlmanBeware on 11/06/09, 9:22 pm:

Ok I did  not realize I was "being graded and scrutinized" on being grammatically correct. Seriously, this is a blog for people to discuss Dr Perlman's incompetence as a plastic surgeon. One might raise the question on why you are so admit about defending him? Perhaps, you are Dr. Perlman or a member of his staff? I believe I have a legitimate issue, so therefore I will express my dissatisfaction about his incompetence as a plastic surgeon. Now once again, I was unaware of Dr Perlman's drug addiction's and the fact he is currently on probation. Apparently, this doctor has had issues stemming back to the early 90's with drug's and alcohol abuse. I have recently discovered that certain hospitals have denied him admitting privileges into their hospitals because of his negligence. The hospitals see him as a huge liability, which is why he cannot practice at these hospitals. Also, Dr. Perlman has had 4 claims he has paid out over the course of 4 yrs. Now I have looked up other plastic surgeons and have not encountered so many claims to be paid out. What does this say about his competence? The facts speak for themselves!! Here are a few useful links for those who are considering Dr Perlman. I would suggest you take a look at the cold hard facts and base your decision on if wheather you feel a doctor with this in their back ground is suitable to operate on you. I certainly would  not of chosen him if only I had done my research. There are many plastic surgeon's in the area without a shady past.   Why would one want to risk their body or life in the hands of a surgeon who has all this in their background? They would not if they knew.   Helpful links: Click on the tabs  http://164.82.148.59/Physician%20Profile%20Lookup/Search.aspx     http://www.vahealthprovider.com/results_generalinfo.asp?License_No=0101045982   http://app.hpla.doh.dc.gov/weblookup/   http://164.82.148.59/Physician%20Profile%20Lookup/Details.aspx?agency_id=1&license_id=83997     http://164.82.148.59/weblookup/orders/probation%202001_2005/perlman_md13718_6-27-07.pdf   http://164.82.148.59/weblookup/orders/probation%202001_2005/perlman_md13718_5-7-97.pdf

ladyD, You must cease and desist from criticizing victims of Dr. Perlman's gross negligence for any misspellings or grammatical errors they make.  Back off!  You must either be Dr. Perlman yourself or a member of his office!  Also, SarahNIH is either Dr. Perlman or a member of his office.  This website has already noted that Dr. Perlman is guilty of "suspicious activity."  The evidence is resounding and clear:  Dr. Perlman needs to retire or be stopped from practicing!!!!  He has grossly injured at least 4 patients just since this summer.  His substance abuse is alive and well too.  Otherwise, he would not be committing such egregious medical errors unless he is just extremely burned out and fried.  Rather, it is probably a combination of these two factors -- continued drug and alcohol usage and burnout.  This problem is not "long gone" as you stated, but is "alive and destroying." At least 1 out of 2 of Dr. Perlman's patients is getting harmed and mutilated these days.  And, if you visit his office, there are not "hundreds" of patients there.  In fact, there rarely is anyone there in the lobby. As for this website, few patients even post comments and they have fictitiously been posted in the positive direction counter to what you wrote.  Now, patients whose lives have been severely damaged and destroyed by Dr. Perlman's medical malpractice, are now coming forward and you will read about their devasting results.  The word is out.  Potential patients and the medical boards need to be warned, and Dr. Perlman needs to quit practicing medicine and get help.

Dr Perlman's name is not spelled Pearlman. Do you think that anyone can take you seriously when you can't even spell the doctor's name correctly? You also forgot to re-read your comments because you have made a bunch of mistakes. Did you go to school with Bella0805? How could you allow a doctor (any doctor) to perform a surgical procedure on you without checking him out first? I checked his background, spoke with other medical professionals and then spoke with him before I allowed him to perform any of the many procedures I had. The whole problem with the alleged 'drugs and/or alcohol' is long gone. He admitted he once had a problem, sought help, recovered and voluntarily closed his other offices. Should he be punished the rest of his career for something which occurred years ago? Dr. Perlman voluntarily has substance abuse testing performed currently, which not only proves that he is 'clean' but also shows how dedicated to his profession he is. It is unfortunate that you did not get the results you were looking for. I can understand your frustration after spending a lot of money and not being happy with the results. I state again that for the hundreds of patients who were and are happy with their surgical results, there of course will be some who are not satisfied. The patients who have had a negative experience will always be the outspoken ones. People don't usually commend doctors on the great job they've done, but rather criticize when they are not happy.

I recently have had cosmetic surgery with Dr. Pearlman as he came highly recommend by someone I knew. Had I of known or done a little digging I would have never jeopardized my body or life like I have. Dr. Pearlman conducted a surgery on me, which left my body distorted. I spent thousands to have this procedure and only to be left mutilated and broke. I spent so much money to have this procedure only left to feel embarrassed and ashamed at how I look. I wish I had know all of this before I had my surgery, but I will certainly be writing the medical boards and will be consulting with attorney's on my legal actions against him. Dr. Pearlman is incompetent surgeon who should not be practicing anywhere! Does anyone know of a good surgeon? I need to find a competent plastic surgeon to fix what Dr. Pearlman has done to me.

Response by david14 on 11/04/09, 12:16 pm:

I certainly agree with 'kevboom's assessment. My wife and I went to the Spelios practice, since they were providers in our dental insurance plan. We had each previously been going to our own 'out-of-plan' dentists for several years. After my wife went to the Spelios practice first, and did see Dr.Olson, she came home in a panic and almost in tears because she had so-o-o much work that needed to be done. I asked her if she really thought her long time dentist was so slack as to miss all this. My appointment was a few days later, and I did NOT see Dr. Olson, but another dentist in the practice. Guess what?  I had almost to the letter the same dental problems my wife had. They did do x-rays for me (was time for them anyway, but more later on that). The hygenist did an apparently thorough exam, and told me she couldn't even clean my teeth (that's what I'd gone for) until I had certain things fixed in my mouth. The dentist  then did his own exam on my teeth agreed with her findings, and laid out costs, scheduling options, etc. Hmmmmmm....are my wife's previous dentist and my previous dentist so incompetent to miss all these same things? I think not! I came home and immediately called for an appointment with my regular dentist and when at his office, I explained what I had done and what had happened. I actually apologized to him for going to the Spelios practice, and yep, he'd heard of them. My hygenist told me the dentist I had seen was going through a nasty divorce and probably needed the money. I have no idea if that is true, I'm just repeating what she said. By the way....all I needed to have done was a regular cleaning. Anyway, my hygenist started to take x-rays since it was time for them, but I said they had already been done at the Spelios practice. She advised me to just go over and get them, since the pictures were in reality mine. I too was charged a $25 or $30, not sure which, administrative fee to get MY x-rays. Get this....while I was sitting in the waiting area, and no one else was there at that time, Dr. Spelios himself was conferring with other doctors and/or staff just on the other side of the reception counter. I don't know if he/they didn't see me or didn't care if they saw me, but I could not help but overhear them. The primary subject of their conversation was making sure they were billing patients for all the services they could render. I am not about to say that anyone now, or previously associated with the Spelios practice, does or did anything fraudulent, but I certainly will not disagree with kevboom's opinion....and I don't mind paying the extra $$$ out of my pocket to see a dentist I really feel I can trust.

I am unconditionally apologetic that you had a disappointing experience at our office.  As an employee of Dr. Bash's I'd like to address some of the positive attributes that you brought up in your opinion.  We were able to accomodate you into our schedule as an emergency and spent a generous amount of time discussing your dental problems.  Although you had a "bad tooth", many patients neglect to understand that other areas in your mouth may be causing your infection.  Our staff always tries to educate you in understanding what caused the pain; rather than taking the tooth out and not informing you of any details.  As you explained in your comment, Dr. Bash was able to offer your a courteous discount.  He understands that in today's economy people cannot always afford to do the right thing, i.e. save your tooth. Although your were not happy with the generous amount of time spent discussing your dental problems, most of our patients see that as a great benefit of our office.  Although this website is very helpful with researching opinions about doctors, the majority seems to be in the negative.  It's the positive that never seems to be shared.  We have come to develop such high expectations that anything which is done over and above the quality of care, is not appreciated.
